Something tells me that the real furina is in her room all the time working, while she send mimics of herself to do her not so important biddings, and by doing this her mimics only have half of the inteligence of an archon, and aleccino watching this feeble mimic she thinks she's cursed , when in reality is only a fragment of her

I theorize that we haven't seen the "elegant" or archon side of Furina much at all in the quests and the voice we heard that sounded like Furina at the end of Neuvillette's story quest and the one we heard in his teaser is actually the proclaimed archon side, Focalors. That the curse that Arlecchino speaks of is the separation of Furina and Focalors. Furina's chronical feelings of loneliness, insecurity, and genuine fear of death can be explained with this curse being the separation of her and this archon side of herself and them not having much contact since said curse was cast. Taking in account with how "Focalors" sounds, she's very calm and wise, the typical image of an archon. I trust Arlecchino when she said that the "hydro archon" isn't present with Furina at the moment. It would make sense Furina depended on her for various tasks (specifically a certain impending prophecy). It's even hinted at that Neuvillette even looked up to "Focalors" with how her lines is used as a voice of reason when Neuvillette starts questioning the reason of his birth and the world around him. With this "curse" happening, Furina lost someone very dear to her, and so the seeds of her loneliness and insecurity were sowed. I also feel as though she was being genuine with her fear of being killed by Arlecchino which could be explained if this curse disrupted the immortality Furina would naturally have as an archon. I'm not arguing Furina isn't an archon, but instead is missing half of herself that would under normal circumstances complete her godhood. When Furina is being "extra" with her speech and tone, I believe she is just trying to mimic what she thinks Focalors would sound like (think of Venti's Story Quest) or just what a "true god" would sound like in her eyes. Confident and just in the words they use. Before she starts speaking extravagantly, she always does a little "Ahem" or pause, as if she's preparing herself for a character she's about to play.(Note: I don't think everything Furina says or does is an act. For example, I think she was being her genuine self with the reply she left for Neuvillette. What I am saying is that sometimes she's trying to fill in the role Focalors would usually take. Just look for the gestures I described earlier in her scenes, you'll catch it.) That note she left Neuvillette was just Furina herself trying to encourage the Neuvillette to get out of his shell. When you compare how Furina sounds, and the voice we hear when involving Neuvillette's quests and teaser, they sound quite different in tone and use different words (shoutout to Furina's VAs, specifically Amber Lee Connors). I feel like this is best shown in with the Focalors voiceline we hear in Neuvillette's quests and the note Furina left him. In Neuvillette's quest cutscene, Focalors says "You will see much in the human world, from the delightful to the depressing... And one day, when you have dwelt among humanity long enough, you will be placed to bring judgement over all as a spokesperson for Fontaine's past.". At the end of Neuvillette's quest, Furina's response to Neuvillette's note stated "You need to get to know your people better! Even if something unfortunate happens, you'll still run into lots of unique characters along the way. What do you think? The human world isn't too bad, now is it?". These statements both communicate the same idea of the human world hosting both joys and woes, and that Neuvillette needs to learn how to adjust to the human world but differs at the express of said idea. This can demonstrate how they have a different way of conveyance of their feelings, but have a similar mindset at their core. With believing this is the effects of the "curse", I believe that Furina and Focalors purposely decided to split from each other in order for Focalors to set herself inside the Oratrice with the gnosis, planning to combat the threat of the primordial sea using Indemnitium. During Furina and Arlecchino's tea party, Furina is very confident in her plans and that Fontaine will be saved, but refused to give out the details of said plan. This could be due to her not wanting to spoil the secret that Furina isn't an typical archon currently and that she honestly doesn't know what Focalors has planned. I also want to bring up that Arlecchino commented during our tea party together that "...Someone's using it(the Oratrice) to prepare for something. But unfortunately, that someone is not you, Miss Furina.". This in addition to Lyney hearing a voice when he visited the Oratrice, adds weight to my speculation that Focalors is the person is utilizing the Oratrice at the moment. Furina is an archon who has piqued my interest ever since Nahida previewed at the end of the Sumeru's AQ and that interest has been growing with every new detail we are given about her. Her first appearance had her boasting about her authority while she was literally looked down on you. As the quests go on however, it was revealed through her actions and speech that she's actually a very insecure and lonely god. This trait of hers can be explained by her struggling with losing someone or a part of herself that she really depended on. Her confidence in saving Fontaine but not knowing how to can be legitimized with this thinking because the "person" or part of herself she admires is currently trying to set up the motions to save Fontaine. Furina may of consciously cursed herself, knowing that she'd have a horrible experience with the "interminable loneliness" of losing herself and may easily be killed in the fragile state she's currently in, all in order to protect the nation she adores. It's been so fun thinking about all of this and listening to everybody else's thoughts. :D

What a True god really means, and What it actually is... hmmm. She does seem to still be guessing based on what an actual Archon would do ie previous Hydro Archon... Also hype for her grand secret plan, or if there actually even is haha. She is indeed one of the most character ever in the game. We really cant understand what she really is, what she wants, or what she has and can or cant do 😆

There's another reason Oratrice being built before Egeria isn't possible. If you look at Neuvillette demo the Oratrice isn't in the background which means it's not built yet yet Nuevilette was made Chief Justice a little over 400 years ago. It's practically impossible for Egeria to have made it.

You can kinda tell which Archon we’re experiencing by the which side of her face the camera is focused on; Furina is the lighter eye with the dark tear drop, and Focalor is the deep blue with the light.

i think she have 3 personalities. Just like water can exist in 3 states which are solid, gas and liquid. Also the fact that there is 3 thrones at the dancing robot area

I'm 90% sure that Furina's plan is to make the hydro sovereign love humanity so he can stop the profesy, the sovereigns are stronger than the archons, so she probably can't stop it by herself, but neuvillette also can't stop it without his full power, so making the hydro dragon love humanity so she can give him back the gnosis and he will stop the waters is a great plan, and she couldn't say anything because nobody knows if the hydro dragon is even real/alive, and her plans defy celestia

He is the only one that can stop the "punishment" and he already said his jugdement, he said that that punishment was too cruel, Furina gave him a position where he could observe humanity, a position were he would learn about fairness and justice, and as the god of justice she probably knew that he would love humanity and save them from this unfair and unjust punishment

Two things: one, people have pointed that Furina has had her hair glowing throughout the archon quest which means she’s currently using her powers to help Fontaine. Two, Nahida in 3.2 had told us that Focalors makes the final judgement and so far we haven’t seen Furina do that but the oratrice has which could mean Furina’s real self Focalors is in the Oratrice

although i still highly believe that furina is more reserved underneath due to her insecurity and lack of experience while the louder and more confident personality is a front she put up to appease the people of fontaine, the theory of her personality being split would also make sense now that you brought up the doctor and the curse that arlechinno mentioned. perhaps something is stopping the two personalities from truly coming together and resulting in some inconsistencies in her actions

I didnt expect to like furina as much as I do shes hilarious

Her power of "seeing and knowing" everything in Fontaine is still a stretch. We knew that she had spies all over Teyvat to find information on solving the prophercy. This would create a misunderstanding of her having seer like ability.

I am curious about the curse. The first hydro archon was already combating the primordial waters yet the prophecy seems to center around Furina. It also doesn't add up that *this* Furina was smart enough to make the Oratrice and wise enough to earn Neuvillette's admiration; she sounds like a totally different person in his flashbacks. So my theory is that Furina is taking the brunt of the Whale's curse personally to buy time. The Whale most likely being the cursed corpse of some fallen god; maybe during the archon wars or maybe a fallen hydro sovereign. What we see now is a degraded Furina who is so weak that she cannot keep the curse at bay. Her blind trust in the Oratrice and comments about the wisdom of the divine being revealed in time make me think it was part of her plan to stop the prophecy; it wouldn't be the first time an archon make a mechanical replacement of themselves to protect against erosion. Another possibility, they are really leaning into the biblical themes and Furina is a Jesus reference. She gave up her divinity and plans to sacrifice herself to cleanse original sin. From a story prospective, this would make a lot of sense, but making a Jesus allegory is such a business minefield that I would be shocked if they really done it. Especially when the format of the game demands that the traveler(a character based on Lucifer) will rescue Furina.

Well, Dottore who speak to Tighnari actually one of his segments. All of his segments have their own personality and ambition. It was explained by Dottore himself to Nahida before he erased all of his segments in exchange for the Gnosis.

Fun fact: venti actually confirmed he hangs out with furina in a closed beta voiceline but venti avoided her for 2 days. So we could get something about furina through venti during the waterborn poetry event. It’s unlikely it will happen because this voiceline didn’t make it to the game.

What did he say,

It is a very good theory and in fact there is already something in the Game that gives us more clues about who Furina is, who she really is, her relationship with the prophecy and especially the "Original Sin" that is mentioned in the Teaser The Final Feast . However, that information is found in the new Fontain Wings (the one they give you for reaching Rank 10 of Social Status in the Nation). And not only about Furina, it also gives us clues about Neuvillette, Egeria, the Oceanids and the Fontain Water. I have already read it but I prefer to wait for the release of 4.2 to see if the AQ confirms my hypotheses.

When Furina is talking do Father during the tea party she showed another side as well! at first she sounded very insecure and all, until father accused Furina of not putting any effort. Furina stood up and talked in a very confident voice saying somehting along the lines of "who are you to accuse? I am putting a lot of work into..." but when then being questioned further it's like she backs off and the insecure side pops out again.

GREAT VID!! lemme just leave some (crack) theories: 1)Furina has a split personality like The Doctor, but we haven't met more than one yet. Furina behaves like someone that's not good around people and has to pretend, to show a persona, in front of others, but when being offended by The Knave, her answer was genuine, yet she couldn't share her plan. Perhaps that's bc she genuinely does not know it, but she knows that she spends a great deal of time preparing something against the prophecy. Additionally Nahida says that Focalors has the right to influence the final verdict of every trial, tho the Oratrice is the one to judge, so I for one think that either a segment of Focalors or a part of her "soul" is in there. 2) The Tribunal from the gemstone description might be the Iudex, the Oratrice and the spectators. Neuvillette is the "ideal" judge, the Oratrice exists to find a verdict and the whole of spectators deliver opinions to the Oratrice perhaps the same way that Rukkhadevata collected her people's wisdom in the Akasha? 3)Egeria left her Gnosis with Furina before she went to Kaenri'ah or Furina never possessed the Hydro Gnosis. Hydro seems like a very strong element to me and I can't believe that Egeria died in Kaenri'ah while being on the pinnacle of her strength, so perhaps she was weakened or did leave the Gnosis with her successor. ~or perhaps her demon name is Naberius~

There is still possibility of dual Alter-ego or more precisely. We already have Lyla that have two different sould controling their body. And we have Seele that we can play both pf her personality.(Shet I missed Starchasm Nyx)

this makes alot of sense acting fool infront of everyone is so powerful way to save real identity maybe she just dont want any threat so she can stay without worry and focus on water raising problem its just what i think about ur theory maybe there is something more bigger then we can imagine just have to wait for 4.2

I would like to let you know that in JP dub, Dottore and Furina's voice tone remains the same in all circumstances. I think basing the argument on analysis of just one version of dubs might not have the strongest foundation. A better way would be to base it off of the original CN script and dub. And if just having different tones and attitudes when talking to different people makes a person have split personalities, then all people in the world has a split personality. I also think her written reply at Neuvillette's desk is still on-character with its cheeky tone. It would be really cool though if Furina manages to be able to fool even Arlecchino like you said.

@@irvinggarcia7154 I don't think Hoyo is gonna pull "sikes-the-Hydro-Archon-is-someone-completely-different" on us, because that will mean Hydro is the only element that doesn't have a playable Archon. They're not going to do that. So, even though the biggest question right now is "Who the heck really is Furina?", which all of these hypotheses attempt to explain (even I'm starting to doubt if the current Furina we see is really 500+ years old!), I believe she will gain or regain her Archon power somewhere along the 4.2 Archon Quest.

Remember the 4.1 trailer where he was forcing the primordial water back? There was a line in that exact scene, and it sort of implied he was going to become the new "archon". The line was also voiced by Furina's VA in chinese. Nothing is confirmed tho.

@@irvinggarcia7154 That line in its proper context is past Furina who persuaded Neuvillette to become a chief justice 400 years ago, it's on his story quest. So, it does seem like past Furina is someone who Neuvillette respected enough to take her advice, totally unlike present day. Still, why he refuses to answer when Paimon outright asks if he's the real Hydro Archon or not? I mean, it should be very simple for him to just say no, right? I'm really looking forward to all the answers.

I believe that she is "split", one part of her which has the gnosis is either inside the oratrice or it's engine which Lyney wasnt able to get close to. And becouse she's split is the explanation why she has different eye colours. I believe the land of fontain also hints at this with the pneuma and ousia blocks, and guess what, it's been datamined that Furina will have a base mechanic in her kit which is based on the splitting of the ousia and pneuma, which to me also indicates that she's been split. Also I think this is why Aleccino thinks she's cursed because she feels that something is wrong with her (not being whole), I might be wrong of course but that's what I believe

So I was right about exactly everything I was speculating about!

after all these theories and stuff, I am still not convinced that Furina have split/dual personalities. I think Furina is as turbulent and as unpredictable as the water considering she is the Archon of Hydro, much like Venti being free spirited like the wind, and Nahida being able to grow like the dendro element. Furina, although seemingly shallow with how she present her thoughts, can be as deep as the waters of Fontaine, and much like Fontaine hiding the primordial waters underneath, Furina may be hiding something below the shallow gestures she presents. She is unpredictable, like water, and that makes her charming

5:26 Just an observation but after she said no not at all, music started to pick up and her voice sounded bratty again. When we first met her the music was also going. Maybe this is an indicator of Furina but it might just be me.

Here's my theory Just what if there's is 3 versions of Furina? Not 3 individual but 1 Furina and divided her consciousness to manage all the Fontaine 1st Furina was holding up the primordial water 2nd Furina is just part of her puts into a puppet to have a some sort of public figure to calm down the citizens of Fontaine because of the prophecy 3rd Furina is controlling the oratrice and Childe was deemed to be guilty is just an act, she just want Childe to help 1st Furina about the primordial water problem because Childe has some sort of knowledge about it while Neuvillette didn't really remember anything about it I just got that theory because Ei can control the Raiden Shogun puppet body and that puppet can get her own will hence the seemingly personality change and since Fontaine is technologically advanced and I'm assuming Furina was a master of it. And from the source I've read it says " Focalor governs 30 Legions of spirits and is a powerful servitor to summon in dreaming (Subconscious - Water - Leviathan) sorcery " Note : I haven't played the 4.1 archon quest yet, I don't know if there's a contradiction in my theory 😅 It would be a great contrast to the other archons if the hydro archon is really working hard and trying her best even if her life/existence is at risk and then the traveller will help fix everything. And about Neuvillette is just a shell of himself just like Nahida from Rukkhadevata but without the wisom/knowledge so he's basically useless for now

looking forward to the lore in the future(4.2 hope?) to help us prove some of our theories :D

the long wait...

I rather prefer that she's actually is Focalors since we already have 4 instances of multiples personalities/copy (Dottore, Scaramouche, Nahida and Raiden). Through her search to save Fontaine, she might have found an information that flipped her entire perspective of the world thus developing insecurities for being an Archon and other mental troubles. She's might actually be a genius on her own (possibly raised by the previous Hydro Archon) that right after the Cataclysm, she started working non-stop for the many problems while starting a whole industrial revolution for the good of her people. Someone who compared to Ei was actually prepared to her succession to rule and improve Fontaine. But then in between the 500 year gap, she's might have come across something that completely destroyed her beliefs to the point that she doesn't see any reason to avoid the prophecy. There already plenty of suspicion about this archon quest with the fact that we already asked the question about our sibling on the first update (4.0) which is unusual compared to the other nations. We also have a temporary alliance with Arlechinno, we are in good relation with the fontanian gouvernement, we already well known in the country. The only retaining us in Fontaine is tartaglia and the primordial water. By this I mean we don't seem to have real immediate threath in Fontaine ( The primodial water currently sealed by Neuvillette). Maybe the voice heard by Lyney in the Oratrice is actually Furina through telepathy or something warning him to not go further or something like that. Maybe the current state of Furina is Egeria that might no have been such a good archon as we think.

My theory is that the one we see, is the one and true hydro archon but the curse she holds, is her true self was split in two. Two halves separate from each other that makes her whole.

Another Theory what if Furina split her powers to create the oceanids She did that cause she need some of them to power machinery like the trial. I think the voice they heard under the trial machine was also from a stronger form of oceanid that was powering the trial machine. Cause i noticed a lot of smaller Oceanid appeared all over teyvat maybe they there to find any solution for the curse and to spy of course. We can find many of them alongside the waters of fountain aswell.

Furina is one of the characters that confuse me the most in genshin in this moment, she is so mysterious.

I'm curious as to why no one notes that when Neuvillete goes to suppress the primordial sea water in Meropide he apologizes to it as has forces it back almost like it's imprisoning something itself

I loved that part ngl... But I didn't know where to put in regards to Furina's personalities kek. But from what I could understand, he was delaying a sentence that is too harsh for Fontaine's sins. A day WILL come and the prophecy WILL happen, but it wont be today. He apologizes that he had to overrule that sentence which is the prophecy. Delaying a punishment that Fontaine is all too familiar with. AAGGHH i loved scene so much!

Like is the original dragons consciousness in there or something? I loved it too and it really stuck out when I watched It.

Neuvillette talked about the first hydro archon test drops. She’s got both in her eye, and supposedly has powers tied to light and dark elements around Fontaine. It’s probably safe to say her, oratrice, tear drops, and light/dark elements are all a part of the full archon

I think atp the more apparent hypothesis is that she can somehow do somethign similar to a Oceanid, whether it was forced upon her or self inflicted, that is up in the air. But the Hydro Archon we see most likely isn't "whole".

What if Furina is a collective of Oceanids, maybe 3 High Elder Oceanids lol too much of a stretch... Well... what if Furina had collected Egeria's waters after her death and consume some of the previous Hydro archon energy into herself, letting her possess some of Egeries memories/personality. This would explain the 2 contrasting personalities of Furina, 1 that mirrors the wisdom and confidence liking to the previous Hydro Archon and the other than embodies a lost, timid, hated 'by the oceanids' child that lost her mother "Egeria" 500 years ago. I'm not saying the previous Hydro Archon exist in Furina but that personality is influenced by the previous Hydro Archon because of the memories carried by the waters she consumed.

Egeria bathwater. YES! I like this one. Egeria feels way too disconnected from curent Fontaine, that its hard to make sense of why or how she might have a hand in whatever is happening atm. I hope they go over Egeria in 4.2, or atleast mention her in the actual story. Like they did with Remuria and the Fortuna in Meropide

for the case of the archon hydro if they want to be inspired by the seele of honkai impact, when focalor has abandoned his human vessel (furina) to install herself in the oratrice maybe another personality has been generated, in the empty vessel the current furina without divine characteristics, maybe it may have gone so' I’m not sure

This would also make sense with the rumors of her being able to use both pneuma and ousia in game.

The acting theory is really interesting but I don’t think it will be the truth about Furina. My theory yearns towards the split of her self. As we know Furina is the only character that can manipulate both Pneuma and Ousia. If we translate these words in Greek they mean Soul and Matter (sometimes you can use it as Being too) respectively so it’s really possible that Furina has separated her soul from her body and up till 4.1 we’ve seen only her Ousia form (that’s why she’s not the smartest) while her Pneuma is with the Gnosis down in the Oratrice trying to find a solution about the Primordial Sea. That’s why we can hear her Soul crying in the fountain while her Body is goofing around. Plus if Nuevillette didn’t believe that Furina can find a solution he could have easily taken her out, take back the Gnosis and the Hydro Authority and fix the problem by himself like he said to us.

Good try except for one thing: Venti was shown using the wind demonstrating his power as Anemo Archon. Zhongli was shown using the power of geo proving him to be the Geo Archon. The most obvious was Raiden the Electro Archon who singlehandedly murdered the giant serpent and the thunderbird. Even Nahida utilises telepathy as the god of wisdom and proves herself the Dendro Archon. We are 4.1 versions in and even though we see the Hydro Sovereign use his Hydro powers, we do not see Furina using any Hydro powers. Ergo, we all believe Furina is Forcalors because she herself tells her so and others claim she was. But we see no Hydro powers used by her so far. Which indicates that she is in fact, a pretender to the Hydro throne.

Actually, we may have seen Furina using her hydro powers. In the 1st act of the 4.0 Archon Quest, during the trial, we've seen a guy named Vaughn. He didn't have any contact with the primordial sea water, but somehow was dissolved. There's a possibility that he worked for Furina, finding out if primordial sea water can actually dissolve people (so Furina would know if the prophecy may happen). As he started confessing, he almost said the name of his boss (his last word was "the" so it must have been "the Hydro Archon"), and as Furina cared about her reputation as the Archon, she immediately got rid of him. Just look at her expression after Vaughn dissolves. Is she surprised? Scared? No, she looks angry and serious, she knows what is happening. And Vaughn's boss couldn't be Vacher, as he says "The disappearances were also the boss' idea". Vacher's goal was to return Vigneire, not to make people of Fontaine disappear or to find out how they can disappear. Furina probably used this case for her own good, getting needed information while all the suspicion went to others, and used her powers on Vaughn. I could be wrong tho :0

Why would Furina want to dissolve Vaughn using primordial sea water? Wasn't her goal to prevent the exact opposite from happening? That doesn't make any sense. It's like saying PETA protests harm to animals by killing them. Your sense of irony is impeccable. However farfetched that theory may be, even if it were true (but highly unlikely), how does that even prove that Furina use her Hydro Archon powers when even Vacher can dissolve his victims with primordial seawater? By your logic, can Vacher also be the Hydro Archon then?@@imtrojan

Well, the two different blue hues of her eyes indicate a duality that is an equal proportion on both sides, I wonder if her other side has a Melusine form, and she is afraid of showing it? I remember Neuvillette saying something of the hydro dragon could take back the powers given to the archon! who do say he didn't in the pass and gave it to another? and doing so he lost his memories why he was born into the world. Or maybe he was able to do so in his human form and he brought back to life the murdered Melusine Carole into this dichotomy of an Archon? by why would she have these two sides? did the horrible death caused her to be like this? Or maybe she's fused with another person? I am going out on the deep end, and I am not wishing for this, but could she be fussed with Vautrin? he did seek out to take justice on Carole's killers! And what about Childe's vision, we don't have a story about how he got it? could his vision actually be the hydro gnosis? does Childe know it? did he steal it himself? Is that what he is guilty of? or could he be guilty of using it? Because he can't be guilty of possessing it when the traveler has it! But apparently, he didn't steal it either, because he doesn't understand why he's guilty!

I think the best evidence of the truth is in Pneuma and Ousia. Furina will have both Pneuma and Ousia, so it is obviously a significant part of the story. Pneuma is the ancient Greek word for "breath", "spirit", or "soul", while Ousia stems from the ancient Greek word for "to be". In this case, I think it is safe to interpret these as "Soul" and "Being" (aka the bodily form). Both Pneuma and Ousia combine to create a "Balanced" state. This is *not* to be made analogous to concepts like Yin and Yang, as those exist separate from one another yet simultaneously have a piece of the other within each. On account of the reason that Pneuma and Ousia combine to a balanced state, I believe Furina is one being split into two that can combine again. As to where the other half is, I believe it lies with the Hydro Gnosis, most likely within the Oratrice. From leaks, we can see that when Furina swaps to either her Pneuma or Ousia forms, she physically changes as well. Her dark outfit is for Ousia, and her current outfit is for Pneuma. This means thus far we have only seen Furina's "Soul", or, as you have mentioned, her emotions. I believe that if Furina had ever swapped personalities, she would have some other physical change to accompany it. So I would say so far we have not seen anything to serve as grounds to say that Furina has swapped personalities in the storyline up to this point. As to the grounds for my belief that the Hydro Gnosis and half of Furina lie within the Oratrice, I point to the source of Indemnitium's creation: the people's belief in justice. It is known that Archons gain power as their people continue to believe in them. It is not the belief in the Archon themself that grants this power, but the belief in the holder of the Gnosis. The ability for the Oratrice to turn human belief into energy mirrors the power that the Archons hold, so I believe that the Hydro Gnosis powers the Oratrice and the Oratrice's voice is the Ousia side of Furina. Considering the statue(s) of the seven in Fontaine depicts Furina, it must be true that Furina was at one time or another the holder of the Hydro Gnosis (aka, the real archon). It may be that Furina split herself to both govern the people and produce indemnitium, or it may be that she doesn't hold the Hydro Gnosis to avoid the prophecy from coming true (that the hydro archon would be left alone, so by Furina not holding the Gnosis she is technically not a full Archon. In that case, she would remain divine but would not hold the Archon position). Either way, there is no evidence to say that the Pneuma and Ousia sides don't balance to form one Furina, or that they would remain separate creating two versions of Furina.

There's an episode of doctor who (10th doctor) where he responds to the British prime minister (after she blew up a ship of aliens who were retreating) by saying: "You know... You look a little tired". He did this in front of an audience intentionally because it caused a lack of faith in the leader that diminished her power and influence and the line about Furina being "cursed" feels to me like the Arlecchino is trying to do something similar

I think that you are right with Furina having multiple personalities. I mean Neuvillette says Furina was researching about the prophecy (FURINA), and I mean his reaction to her being scared of him not going to the meeting seemed like Furina is usually that eccentric lol. And also the emotions she shows like crying in her room seem real. So it would make sense, but these are just my guesses. my theory is that furina has 2 consciousness, nuevillete once had a sister and she is ill because of primodial sea water and she is dying, to save nuevillete sisters life the hydro archon take her consciousness and let it live inside her body, that's why nuevillete is very protective of furina because the other consciousness of furina is his sister

With her kit being what it is, you guys think the real or more powerful version of her might be in the oratrice to determine justice n the lesser version takes her place as the archon for show as in something like inazuma’s case

It would have to be prior to the archon war, as that is when Rukkhadevata passed and Nahida was born. Since we know that Rukkhadevata created the Harvisptokhm to anchor Egeria's conscious to the mortal realm, We can surmise that Furina has at least 100 years on Nahida.

I doubt it’s DID because her “personality switch” happens seamlessly. Which neither happens with real people struggling with DID nor fictional characters that are a bad representation of DID. This “quick switch” is abnormal.

In 20 years of working SMI inpatient and outpatient treatment I’ve never seen a convincing case of DID; it’s almost all tied to severe trauma that requires dissociation. Unlike real life Furina seems to just have split herself or reincarnated herself into two forms; her and oratrice

Or the real furina is = the Oratrice. Nahida said that whatever the Chief justices judgement, Focalors still holds the final Verdict. And we saw on the previous archon quests that The Oratrice is the one that calls the final Verdict. And it's coincidence that lyney wants to investigate why the Oratrice can make those Verdicts as if there's someone or Oratrice has a life. We saw that oceanids many times that they can transform into humans. Could be furina's full potential is the Oratrice?

Tbh i thought forina were behind the prophicy.. (she wants to floud all the siners) that would be a nice story to tell .. but it does not fit genshin ... and we already had a kinda similar story with shojin.

I believe that Furina is the physical manifestation of Egeria's insecurities that continues to live even after Egeria's death. I don't have a lot of proof for this but I think it's weird how Furina became an archon with her personality. Arlecchino thinks that Furina was "cursed" probably because she can sense that Furina isn't really... normal? For all we know, she might just be an afterimage produced by the Oratrice. (all of this is speculation lmao i don't know what i'm saying)

The cursed furina cuz the primordial water is so fiting.. i think it is the story.. tho its a bit boring but it make sence in genshin world.
