3x3 Rubik's Cube Example Solves (intermediate level)

My daughter and I go through 7 example solves on the 3x3 cube. Best for beginner to intermediate cubers. Otherwise you'll be pretty bored and will probably leave me 100000 comments about how I could've done it better. But we hope it at least helps someone :)

0:59 there u could instead do U2 R' F R F' L' U' L and will orient the red green edge so it is rotation-less. 3:01 there's an incoming x-cross with U' R' F L U' f R' f D. 3:03 you should done a U' then finish the cross to straight up pairing the red green pair. 3:15 alternatively, doing a sledge hammer (R' F R F') could pair them up and insert with no rotation. 4:35 you should do a pseudo slotting by D' U2 R' U2 R U' R' U R D2 so that it will pairs up two pairs. 6:14 you should do this: U R' U R U' R' U2 R U' R' U' R that way it will be easier for no regrip. 6:27 you could learn corner recognition so you know that it will lead to a diagonal swap so PLL recognition would be faster. 6:58 you miss a super easy white cross which brings you to a extra pair tho(although it wasn't wrong anyway). 7:45 you should really rotate before pairing to keep the edge orientation. 8:02 Tingman you miss-scramble the cube lol

I average 15 even about, and have been at this level for about 5 years without change. I just started getting back into cubing after a huge hiatus, but all my f2l cases are so ingrained in my brain, but after watching this I realized I really need to relearn some cases. That's going to be tough to unlearn stuff, but you showed me a few new things. Never knew about the edge color aligning on the back meaning no rotation. So thank you for that. Good video as always. It's really cool to see you having so much fun with your daughter. And also her solves are so much more efficient than mine, it's great to see!

Cross Recommendation: (Holding with red infront and yellow top) Instead of doing R' F L D R' try U' R' F L D. It doesn't save any moves but it does make the cross way faster as it is more fingertrick friendly as each move sets up another edge.

Great video Tingman. I'm sub 10 and I am sitting here in shock at the alg at 3:13. It makes so much sense. It's very interesting to use M slice or F face to switch edge orientation. Do you know any more algs that use this concept? Jay mcneil has a series called F (RU) F' that goes over some of the F turn stuff.

Trenton Beatty thanks, it’s a cool alg hey. I’ve always thought that once I’m faster and have better look ahead, I’d be able to choose whether or not to use a F2L insert that uses F or M so that it’ll orientate the remaining edge(s). Otherwise at the moment it’s total luck for me haha.

@@Tingman It's very useful to start thinking about edge control during 2nd/3rd pair instead of 4th, because sometimes its a super easy case like a sledge or a back insert like r' U' R U M' or R' F' U' F R. Are you going to learn COLL? I've found it very helpful in solves and it helps your recognition for things like 2x2 or OLLCP for some OLL's.

I use the default ones that come straight out of the box. Which I think are the green magnets and yellow nuts? Or I might be mixing them up.

Either way works! I find the top colour easier because I can compare it with the front and back of the cube, as opposed to the side of the edge, in which I need to compare to the left and right sides of the cube.
