3s Brushless Tamiya Mini M03 Speed Runs end with a bang!

Ойын-сауық

So the M03 was ok on a 3 Cell Lipo & actually got a decent speed, but I got a bit to adventurous with the bashing and had a bit of a moment, the Gearbox/Chassis took a big hit and exploded!
(I said it was stock but it's actually been converted to M03Ra and has full ball bearings)

Hehe that was great fun, Phil! I must be doing something very wrong, if you remember my speed challenge run, my M03 just would NOT go in a straight line and I nearly took a member of the public out at 30mph! But 43mph? Awesome. I have just bought Tamiya aquroshot and Tamiya blitzer beetle for my children. I want them to be able to use either them or a different car at a club. See picture. Do you have a 21.5 brushless motor, 80amo esc and 25kg servo... Would that meet the criteria the club requires and could they use one of the cars we have with that inside it?. I'm happy to get them a Tamiya M chassis, maybe the beetle or... (Any suggestions) Also need some 2s lipo that are ok quality. It's hard to figure out when some of the Chinese cheap stuff is good and some is bad. I have ordered an ok lipo charger. It has various functions. With a brushless set up do I need one of those programing cards that some of the kits come with. I liked the look of goolrc or leopard for a brushless set up. I also wouldn't mind converting the Tamiya aquroshot and blitzer beetle into bashers and get tamiya m chassis for the club. Do brushless bashers need to be around 13t. Does the 21.5 mean the battery lasts longer. The following is a copy and paste from our local club. Tamiya Mini: Stock mini class Motors; 21.5 brushless or 27t brushed to allow for a steady and controlled pace. Any available rubber tyre (Mini Pin tyres are not permitted).. Hop-ups will be allowed. Tamiya ‘M’ chassis; type with front or rear wheel drive only. Motors will be brushed; sealed silver can type motors, with a wind of no lower than 20 turns. Rookie: This class is aimed at the junior / beginner in RC racing. The car may be any 1/14, 1/12, 1/10 vehicle. Advisory only - motors should be of a high wind, e.g. 21.5 brushless, 27t brushed

Gotta say, they really CAN take a beating, from what I've seen in a few of your Videos! 😎👍👍 At least A Parts are cheap. I know this because out of mad want to get ONE, I'm building a M05 - PIECEMEAL!!! 😲😲😲 That's right, one Tree at a time, one Parts Bag at a time! I Was Thinking, Would The Bodyshell Fit Perfectly On A Chassis From A Tamiya mini?, Those Wheel Part's Need To Be Shorter Too. remind me not to let you EVER drive my on road rally type cars OK!? dang... ouch! decades ago a buddy built a carbon fiber "Agitator" 1/12 pan car, thing was awesome. we were racing counter-clockwise on a triple tennis court (bungees to pin the nets up) and suddenly he decided to run clockwise. head on collision with my modified BoLink "Digger" (lowered, front suspension added, rear diff with motor ahead of axle). his car literally shattered, combined speed was over 75 mph. my Digger? the force flipped the power switch forward+off, and that was all :) BoLink is now "RJspeed", you can still get the classic tough as nails ladder framed Diggers and Legends racer kits. parts availability is pretty quick (in the US anyway). they're very simple but so much fun to drive and race... in their own class against other Legends racers. it's kinda like NASCAR vs Formula One, just no comparing the two.

I know, was razzin ya. the old school BoLink now RJspeed stuff is still cool and tough as it ever was, don't know if you've heard of or seen them there across the pond. they also made flat pan car chassis' that'd compete with Associated etc. never seen you run an old school pan car, they're really fast because they're so bare bones simple and light! the ladder frames are a little clunkier but lots tougher, vertical plates held together with standoff tubes are nearly as light as a single flat plate pan car... like something 2D simple made 3D, there's a really brilliant simplicity to them. www.rjspeed.com/ OH CRAP... they're retiring going out of business soon! get a look and order soon if interested, most kits around 150 bucks (more or less). I'd suggest a pan car or a legends car kit over the dragsters (single purpose) and diggers (short 1/12), they're much more iconic/classic. A-main hobbies is selling them discounted... same for Tower Hobbies the 3.2 sport pan car is at 105 bucks (cheep!) www.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=SM&I=LXYHX7 (I'd suggest you SCOOP!) I have the Digger, and a pretty RARE "BoKart", is the old BoLink Sport pan car chassis with a 1/5 scale go cart body+driver from the early 90's, fairly well covers what BoLink was all about.

Phil I really hope you see and GRAB THAT UP, they're FAST with a strong brushed motor and it'd be SICK FAST with 4000kv brushless with a good gear ratio (btw 32 pitch are tons tougher). lots to be said for such minimalist light weight RC pan cars, did I mention fast? they corner like a bandit too with the right donuts on them.
