Hello Cody vs, I finally get to see somome turn one of thes on I’ve bin doing mine for about two years and I haven’t had time to finish it my engin is in I had to change a couple thing mine was off a challenger so I had to Change oil pan pick up tube and motor mounts but I have a question did u use the same harness did u just have to extend some things ? Did the connections for the injectors fit or do u have to extend them?

Billi Bob we used the original harness didn’t have to extend anything

Hey do U have a Instagram or somthing that I can talk to you. I’ve been trying to put a 6.1 hemi in my truck and the torque converter won’t go in the motor and we already took the sleeve out but still won’t fit flush

the 6.1 is more plug and play than the 6.4 because the 6.1 the only differences are the intake and the headers

@@combustion4life and a few sensors. Go with the 6.1 because you can stroke it to a 7.0 if you want

So if I read the comments correctly. You used a Diablo Tuner with a custom tune from bully dog programmers. I assume they emailed you the file and you uploaded it to the tuner? Great Video BTW!

Just had my Hemi start knocking on my 06 Ram.. I also just stumbled across the 6.1 and would like to know what all to expect with the swap?

To be frank when your at a stop light and you quickly push the gass peddle and let off real quick the whole truck will twist sort of from the torque, i got videos of my 06 ram 1500 megacab srt8 6.1L

Sick I'm planning on doing the same but I'm gonna try getting it cheaper than that.

Awesome, my ram is a 05 5.7, im interested in doing that for mine. Did you use some srt 8 computer or just ram’s stock computer? What about the trans? Can i use the stock one too?

Alfonso Cevallos we used the stock 5.7 computer and then used a programmer to get the 6.1 to talk to the 5.7 computer and it’s works great we used a diablo tuner

I have a 2004 Hemi Sport with the 5.7L Hemi V8 and I'm thinking about doing this swap also... Can you tell me what else I need besides the 6.1 Hemi engine... Will I have to swap out the wiring harness and the computer...or does the 5.7 stock items work

Eternal Allah we used a diablo tuner you can use the original wiring harness but you’ll need different headers off of a srt jeep to be able to make it past the frame

@Murdered5.2 Ram you only gotta change the ring and pinion. The axles can take the hp. I 5.9 swapped a 1500 and we only changed the ring and pinion. If those axles can survive a 5.9 with 150hp injectors tune and bigger turbo it can survive a 6.4

transmission was the same and used the same computer just used a custom tune from bully dog programmers and installed that

What throttle body did you use? Also did you have to relocate compressor? Or any components

@@christopherorozco08 there's a relocation kit on xtreme muscle that relocates the alternator and the compressor so it all has a oem fit

Only bad thing is crazy people on ebay still wanting 5 to 6,000 for a junkyard 6.1 with 150 to 200,000 miles !!! Makes it not worth it to me i could build my 5.7 and put a turbo on it for 6,000 bucks.....

About 8,000 it was 6,500 for the motor and 1,500 for the accessories to make it work with the truck

it still needs to be tuned not sure if we are going to do a dyno run do to it still having a stock 5.7 trans in it with a little over 150k miles

Listen to this man more power to him it was a 13,000 dollar conversation for a 6.1 with 50 more hp 50 more ft lbs over the 5.7 lol Could litterly buy a used hellcat motor for that price or build my 5.7 with good internals with a turbo and build the transmission for 13,000......😂 can litterly buy a ls7 for 13,000 ......

That exhaust is going to cook the rear end

Bobby Berrier yes that’s how you prime the fuel pump we had to do that because it was new fuel lines and to check for leaks

Tick could be many things. They say route cause of that is lack of lubrication. But you ask me it's a valve or injector or exhaust leak.

Mine had an exhaust leak. Manifold bolts are trash and break pretty often.
