@@choppedinc. I shared it on my community tab. Hopefully gets some views on this. I've been doing this to 3/4 and 1 tons but never a 1500 so to see it done(and done fairly well) it definitely deserves some recognition. Keep up with the videos. Would love to see more of this thing!

I watched your 12 valve to 3rd gen vids when I was doing some research. Yours was the best ones I could find and there was not really any for the 12 valve in a 1500 3rd gen swap.

Been watching your build and definitely caught my attention on the details being shared. I have an 04 with a hemi and should be similar to the v6. I'm curious if u have a custom cable for the injection pump or did u use the oem throttle cable? And the big question is what about 4x4? I don't think you mentioned wether it would clear or need to be modified.

I left the front the same just put the one tone coils in it with spacers. The one tone coils are thicker then the 1500 but shorter in a second gen not sure about a third gen on tone.

  • @choppedinc.

It's actually a electric pedal switch from a 2006 f250. Wired in to the vacuum solenoid for the cruise control. It works pretty good on flat ground. Or it can be used as I high idle in the cold months

I bought a whole running parts for $2500 that got me most of the parts. Had to get 3rd gen radiator and ac lines and pump and condenser and 3rd gen intercooler, there was stuff that you maybe able to use from buy a full truck but was easier to buy 3rd gen stuff that fits with out modifications. I think it can be done for $4k or less if you can find a cheap parts truck. If you have to buy everything individually it could get pricey. Some people are asking a fair bit for just and engines.

It's not a bad idea but you wouldn't get the better steering and weight loss from the 1500 chassis it drives very nice, better than any secondgen i have driven. You Would have had to cut the frame if you want a short bed and make new ac lines and brake lines and buy a 2500 diff and new front rotors so it wasn't a dually and a new bed. There is probably a list of extra things I would have to do. But each to there own. There is not a wrong way to do it as long as it's made safe. I have 2 other dually trucks and love a fun little run abouts that can get some good mpg.

@@choppedinc. And you use the V6 sensors right? You just adapted them for the Cummins engine? I’m doing a similar project but with an Allis Chalmers 433I so I had the same idea but I wasn’t sure it would work but looks like it will.

Yes I just used the sensors from the v6. Oil pressure temp and the rpm from the tonering and sensor. The tonering is in the motor so you have to pull it apart or buy a new one. It all ran through the original computer and worked on the dash, just had a check engine light on

  • @choppedinc.

It's wired in to the factory cruise control vacuum thing. There is 4 wires to it, just wired in to it using a ford pedal adjustment switch. There is a diagram on Google that shows you how it's done. It works ok mostly on flat ground but will also work as a high idle on them cold days.
