Roman has forgotten more about watches than I’ll ever know and I’ve been a dedicated watch freak for 30 years. What an amazing mind that guy has. By far, ond of the best video in terms of watches and knowledge!
I love the way you two thermed 🤜🏻🤛🏽 each other at the start it makes me smile to see you enjoy life
When they say the tourbillon compensates for the effects of gravity what they mean is that the hairspring in old pocket watches used to get pulled down in the same position causing inaccuracies in the timing of the flywheel. By rotating the spring you no longer have a single section of the hair spring sitting in one position and it distributes the wear evenly on the spring. Since wristwatches are not stationary like pocket watches it’s kind of useless in a wrist watch but it is meant to show off because it’s difficult to make and it looks cool.
