This was the greatest video for a tear down. It was really helpful. I'm sure we have damaged ours as we have filament coming out the sides but not from the nozzle. Looks like ours is also a lost cause.

We watched the whole video and decided to try an other solution and not to open it ;-). We used a very thin iron wire and cleaned out the head by inserting it through the nossle. This is how: while the pen is on, I insert the wire through the nossle (about 2 cm, you can feel it stop whet it hits the gear). Then, I turn it around softly while I pull it out. I clean the wire (green fillament) and continue this until there is no more fillament left around the wire. About 20 minutes later I suddenly felt that the wire dind't go in anymore so I inserted a new fillament (yellow) in the back and it worked! There was still quite a lot off green before it turned yellow. I was quite surprised by that.

Following in the footsteps of Arne Stuyck, I took a large paper clip and unfolded it. After my son showed me that the motor had a reverse (double click on the button), I put the motor in reverse and had to keep inserting it and pulling the debris off the paper clip after each insertion. Finally, I ended up having to tap the end of the paper clip while it was inserted and the motor in reverse to pop the clog out the back. As a point of interest, don't let your son try to unclog it himself with dental floss.

What are you doing with those batteries? I could use those to extend the battery life of my Bluetooth Speaker.

Would you be able to say if I could hack one of these to accept the standard 1.75 mm filament if a heating nozzle would actually work?

Too bad they don't assemble the body with screws. It would be so much easier to unclog it!

Mine is assembled with screws. I just unscrewed them. They were special triangle bit screws but I have a tamper proof bit set and all weird screw heads

Ironically you can use the pen to make a mold of the security screws and take them out

anyone know how to get a needle out of the end?? because my brother used a needle to try to unclog it and now its stuck does anyone know how to fix it?? it would be great help.. thank you :)

Bro I bought one for my daughters and i wish i would have bought the regular one. DO NOT BUY THE 3DOODLER START! IT WILL JAM within 10 uses. I PROMISE YOU THAT. Then i had to return it and get a replacement which is not worth it.
