One of the most addicting games I ever played. This is also the first video I've found on YT of someone who really knows how to play the game. Knows about the fuel and ammo dumps instead of mindlessly blowing them up, knows how to self-destruct to get back to the bunker fast.

This was probably the best game for the 3DO, i spent hours on it, never got tired.
@SNARC1515 жыл бұрын
What made this game so great was the music it used for each vehicle: Helicopter-Ride of the Valkyries (a la Apocalypse Now, the quintessential helicopter assault theme) Tank-Mars from The Planets (hard hitting and very epic) APC-In the Hall of the Mountain King (starts off slow and light for the run to the base and then hits hard when in combat) and of course, the Jeep... Flight of the Bumblebee (very fast tune en route to the base) and The William Tell Overture (for the race home!) EPIC!

@Alexis Kasperavicius I had the great pleasure of playing this game on my older brother's 3DO console and later on the original Playstation. One of my favorite games of all time. And I agree with agetro82, the music makes this game extremely funny and entertaining to play. When you're in your jeep and you've got the flag, and your running for your life and lobbing grenades around like a madman...and then "Flight of the Bumblebee" starts playing...that shit is amazing. Then if you win, Lou Gehrig recites his famous speech. Fantastic game.

I put so many hours into this game on my 3DO. Still one of my favorite systems from yesterday.
i was 14 and lied on my job app saying i was 16 just so i could save up for a 3do. this and the 3do version of road rash got houuuuuuurrrrs of play.
Every vehicle had its own symphony. I believe the helicopter used the piece Ride of the valkyrie. When U picked up the flag they used the William Tell overture. I remember the music but don't know the rest of the titles...
wow the music is really good
i use to love this game on the 3DO one of the most funniest game,s ever made they should bring it out for the ps3 and xbox 360
Any game that features Handel's "Messiah" is alright with me. This game was epic!
I LOVED this game when I had a 3DO. Definitely one of my faves. The music was great, especially when it kicked in, like retrieving the flag. I liked being able to blow the crap out of the buildings and seeing all the little army men run out, then running over them and hearing that "squish" noise with the bloody spots on the ground, LOL. Great game!
I destroyed everthing, it was so much fun. The lightening effects are also very good.
LOL. This comment just brought back some memories!
This game was so great!
Fantastic game.
pretty good graphics for that time i must say
It was my childhood mission to get away from carrier and see how long i can survive in hopes of actually reaching another country haha
damn may have to dig the old 3d0 out and dust it off haha
This game freaking rules!!! I own the PSX version. The Two Player mode was great as well.
This game was awesome
Heyyo, Lovely game series.. I seriously think there should be a BF2 mod of Return fire.. has the hummer, has tanks, has jets, has helis.. just a matter of the turrets, and spawnsites and such! :D Btw, just bought Return Fire 2 off ebay. ;)
Great singleplayer game.lots of replay
my favourite part was when you lose a vehicle and that skull pops up and laughs
No, that would be either Road Rash or Star Control II. This game still rocks though.
This game kicked ass
My and my brother used to play as Iran and Iraq when we got this game
Compatibility mode, 256 colours and you should be good to go. I have mine set as windows 95 and 256 and it runs like a dream.
Right in Return Fire 2, does anyone know what the music for the boat and the jet were?
Aw man, I'd kill to play this game again
Simple yet super fun when played with a friend
