Obviously, none of us want to harm King Tut's Tomb. If the Sonar has detected other rooms, they should dig a parallel shaft to see what is there.

That's amazing. How it even has the same imperfections that the original one has. If it does attract tourists, so that there is less damage made to the original tomb, it will be worth while :-).

This is wonderful news! Hawas is so good for his country! This is what they had to do with the problems the Caves at Lascaux, to save the paintings from humidity etc from humans. They made a replica cave w paintings, and the paying public made do with that. Saved the site from irreparable damage. I hope John Romer is still alive to see this. ^_^ Thank you for this upload.

Awesome. my question is when they say the can now protect their tombs are they saying that the land belongs to them because they are the last conquerors to aquire it? Do Egyptian people feel like the land has always been theirs? Is there an awareness of the lands original people/kesh before Greek Roman and Arab invasions? Or is that even taught in their history books?

Ricky Martin DNA has shown that the modern day Egyptians are the closet blood line to ancient Egyptians, not a sub-Saharan bush people who make up their history to go along with their fantasies. Keep smoking" that stuff.

+Grand Talent According to Dr. Diop at the early Egyptologist Conferences DNA testing showed Nubian ancestry as do the ancient Kemetic wisdom keepers point to the origins of ancient Kemet being of Nubia. Robert Bauval as already established this with reseach done at Napta Playa. Then lastly a cursory observation on depictions/reliefs on the walls show obviously who was there predynastic. But we know why this type of information must be subdued and erased. Fortunately genetics will win out. Dominant genes are the majority globally and will soon be the case in North America. puff puff pass.

Yo Ricky Nobody is denying that being next door neighbors Nubia and Egypt weren't jumping the fence once in a while nor that there was a Nubian Dynasty that lasted for about fifty years out of a 3k year history nor that a blacker people may have been the original inhabitants but to say that particular civilization is Black African is living in danile.

+Ricky Martin I am a coptic Egyptian and yes the land has always been Egyptian. Show me evidence that suggests otherwise. Being coptic means my ancestors are Ancient Egyptian copts (one of the ancient languages of Ancient Egypt).

Nowadays this could be done with 3D printing, perhaps even with "ink" similar to the original paints?

Not to sound disrespectful, but I wish Egypt would blow Carter's house to smithereens, and let Egypt be Egypt, with no anglo European chiseling poor Tut's remains from his wrappings.

Why didn't they make a bare cement (or brick) mockup w/ no detail and supply the graphics with oculus rift headsets? better detail at 1/10 the cost. This is a real question.

There is a replica built close to the original tomb to protect it from the effects of visitors, small numbers are allowed in the original tomb very day.

If they're going to make a facsimile tomb, why not recreate the wall paintings in pristine condition? I'd much rather like to see what they looked like without the mold spots and flaked paint.
