When I was in highschool, I had so much knowledge about the 18th dynasty that I wrote down a 5,000 word essay about Tutankhamun, Akhenaten, and Ankhesenamun. After I finished Ankhesenamun's I wrote another essay about all of the six sisters. Because no matter what they were the princesses who deserved their stories told. No matter how short it might be. And his oldest sister Meritaten was thought to have been one of the nurses that raised Tutankhamun
Almost 30 years ago I visited Egypt with my son, six and a half then, and my daughter, 4, and their father. We were in Cairo, Luxor, el Amarna and the tempel of Hatshepsut. In different ways, the four of us enjoyed the journey and were impressed by the builidings and their reliefs and wall paintings. I like to hear you explaining.
thank you for covering this Egyptian family of royal women. very rare indeed
I’m visiting Egypt in October. I’m so excited. I feel like I’m going home. 🇪🇬😊🇪🇬
DNA testing has proven that Akhenaten was, indeed, Tut's father. His mother was found to be Akhenaten's full sister, the "younger lady" of two royal female mummies found in a sealed room in the Valley of the Kings. It is not known for certain that this wife was Kia, though. Akhenaten and this wife were also full brother and sister, which goes a long way in explaining Tut's many physical oddities. Nefertiti's tomb has never been located, nor her mummy found, but she is historically not believed to have been related to Akhenaten, but rather to a high court official names Ay, who eventually became pharaoh after having married Akhenaten and Nefertiti's daughter. So Ay bettered his dubious claim to the throne by marrying his own granddaughter.
This ate, no crumbs left behind, everything in this was presented absolutely beautifully. Thank you!
Thank you for doing this video, Curtis. I knew there six daughters but other than Ankesenamun they were a complete mystery to me.
Ankhesenamun and her lovely letters to the Hittites!😎❤

Also if the relics are still around because they may not even exist anymore with the blatant disregard that the Victorians had on the mummies and other things from Egypt that were plundered as well as other cultures
Wow!! This is so beautiful! I wish I could see the inlays that were clearly removed from so many faces. They are all so breath taking💖 Thank you for this glimpse into the Amarna Princesses👑❣️
Many art experts, forgers, and Egyptologists no longer believe the famous bust people believe is Nefertiti is genuine. Smithsonian had a documentary on it last week. She was an extraordinary woman, but the famous bust is not from her time, made in modern times, probably to impress the Duke who was visiting the site, and the archaeologist just "happened" to find it when he visited. Too bad her tomb and mummy have not yet been found
😍I Loved these stories about the daughters!! (being the oldest of 6 girls😉) I like shows on Egyptian history but always get confused about who was who. (and the time line) 🤦♀️ You explain it expertly and make the history so very captivating!!!!💖💖 Thank you!!

Thank you for doing this film. I am also a lover of Egyptian antiquity. I have always loved learning about their culture and how far advanced they were to other cultures. You do such a great job of showing how they lived`and it shows that you love the culture and the people. Keep making your films please. They are well done and you touch on parts of their life that other film makers do not.
All these beautiful artifacts should be returned to Egypt where they belong
I love learning about these beautiful people.
I just found this channel and am so excited to find a place that has so many videos about ancient Egypt. My 4th grade teacher introduced me to Ancient Egypt many years ago and it has been a passion of mine ever since. Seeing the Metropolitan Opera’s fantastic production of Phillip Glass’s monumental opera “Ahknaten” started me on a quest to learn everything that I could about Akhnaten, Nefertiti, their six daughters and Queen Tiye. King Tut was my introduction to Ancient Egypt, so it’s wonderful to learn about the rest of his family. Question: as this November will mark the 100th anniversary of Howard Carter finding Tut’s tomb do you know of any special celebrations of that momentous event in Egypt or elsewhere? One would think that the centenary of such an important archeological discovery would be a very big deal.

Hi Monica, thanks! Yes there are several events, one will be the tut conference in Luxor, and a possible parade in Cairo.
I wasn't expecting the accuracy. Great job.
Beautiful documentary Curtis... Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Thank you Curtis. This was very informative. I am enjoying your Egyptian and Italian adventures ever since I stumbled upon your documentaries on KZread!. Will you go to the new Grand Egyptian Museum while you are there? What a wonderful and creative life you and Fillipo share! Best of luck. I look forward to your next vlog and or documentary.
Could you do a video about the religion and gods of ancient Egypt ? Full explanation of their beliefs
I love history so so much ...thanks for this documentary
My head always hurts, trying to understand Egyptian history!! Not in a bad way but so many twists and turns. In 1999 I was in Cairo and toured the Egyptian Museum and it was overwhelming.
Thankyou Curtis for giving life back to their names showing great respect ✊
Egypt is one country I would recommend everybody to visit I’ve been there 17 years ago and it was just jaw-dropping. It was amazing and now I can’t wait to take my daughter. Thank you for sharing this lovely video with us.❤

I spent a week in Mojave with some people I met 2 days before. Best week of my life. One of the guys told me to read this book which reminded me of The Matrix movie, but with more information. And it changed my life…so I’m paying it forward: “Man Being Volume 1: The Transmission”. It covers everything from time travel, dreams, death, the afterlife, reincarnation, extraterrestrials, portals and gateways, Vatican and Renaissance secrets, Ancient civilizations, Lemuria, Atlantis, Jesus, Sinai, Egyptians and the Pyramids, Hebrew letters, etc. Wild read. Best I’ve had in years. Highly recommend it.
Such an amazing and unique family. Such beautiful statues and art left behind. I can feel a lot of love here. Thank you for beautiful documentary and for connecting us back through time to these amazing ancestors⚱️🪬🏹🙏🏽💕💛🥰🌸🌸🌸✨💫

You are amazing I love this channel My dream was to become an egyptologist I'm fascinated with everything about it🙌
That was a GREAT video! I so enjoy your information and style, especially pronouncing the names as they should be. ✌🏻💜😇
Really like your explanations ------ I have listened to many people speak about some of these daughters and nobles and they seem to guess at explanations, whereas you know what you are talking about. Also like the fact that if you don't know a fact you say so! Thanks!!
Fascinating. So many questions.
Heavy Gratitude
Those artifacts were stolen. They should have the decency to return them. The restoration always missing the point they were called Kemet for a reason. By the way great video!
i read a fictional book on the princesses and their mother in intermediate school --- that is what really got me interested in Nefertiti -- it is called "The Lost Queen of Egypt " --- it is mostly about the one that married Tut ---- THEN there was the National Geographic magazine article on the found lost temples of Amara ... and more of the story of Nefertiti --- very interesting
Curtis, you are adding great information about ancient Egypt. Bravo!
This channel is so INSIGHTFUL and Enjoyable!!

This was so interesting and wonderfuly spoken, thank you so much for making such fantastic vodeos...brilliant.👍👍👍
Great channel very sophisticated and full with knowledge.
Correction: at counter 19:11ish, Tut was her half brother or rather that she was his half sister not: "SISTER"
That’s what we’re missing in this day and age. Art and spiritual connections and The Goddess place.
Best watch in a long-time. Great stuff 👍
Love the photography of the artifacts
Amazing videos Love Egypt and slightly obcessed with it, thanks

Great documentary! As usual, I appreciate how you always bring to light a unique aspect of the topic. I felt I had been reasonably knowledgeable about the six daughters until now... :) A true eye opener. Grazie mille!
Because the times were different or would it be because the a certain people help themselves to whatever they want so the pieces were stolen?
The world owes this family an appokogy
