Enjoyed the video, amazing what 3D printing can do. Amazing technology. I have a 1971 Chevy Impala with a broken and partly missing center section of the plastic front grill. Think maybe a new plastic center section could be printed and attached onto the existing grill? Where's your shop located?
Awesome!
minute 1:32, paraphrase - Try to get people value for what they are paying for....... I Like it
I bet that is the sort of thing used for Car Mechanic Simulator series but in reality.
Have you ever 3d printed the 2013 avalanche dash? It is soooooooooooooooooo bad at cracking.
I hope at least for Automotive interior trim parts we will use 3D printing machines in future. So we don't to spent More money on mould and conplex engineering.
what filament was used in the video?
Nice, I have been making parts for classic cars with my Lulzbot already, electronic housing, functional door handles, even some emblems. Do you have any technique to chrome the plastic? I liked the video, it shows my customer the potential and to me as well!

What material are people using for car parts that can handle the temperatures?
@Lulzbot3D
5 жыл бұрын
Many people are using filament materials with a high glass transition temperature like ABS, ColorFabb nGen, ColorFabb_HT, Chroma Strand Labs INOVA-1800, Proto-pasta High Temperature PLA, Proto-pasta Matte Fiber PLA, and more. See the range of filament options that can withstand the summertime heat of an automobile passenger cabin at www.lulzbot.com/store/filament.

I would like a complete new dashboard for my 95 Toyota Supra, problem is, they are discontinued and run close to 2k or more, mine is broken in certain places, can you make a new one from the broken origional? And what would it cost?

Providing most of the dash fascia isn't too damaged.. They can simply cut n paste in design and while you're there.. add any mods you might thing you'd like to add at the time and get a quote for full design, print and install. Might even be cheaper in the long run for including labour too..
