So ive pinpointed the problem to the catchers. They extrude way to much and slow the blade inside down to where it wont come out.

Glad ya got it! It’s tough with this design because it’s 100% friction so if there’s even a little bit it literally stops everything from moving

I honestly don't know what more I could do to it to make it work. Other than taking out the price completely

So would you say the key to making this work would be to sand everything to eliminate as much friction as possible? Just started printing mine and don’t mind a little finishing work, just want to ensure I can get the thing working lol. If I can’t get it, I’ll probably end up springing for Sonndersmith’s slightly simpler $7 model, but I wanted to give this free one a shot first.

@@Squallyentree8 lol I actually just ended up buying Sonddersmith’s model for $7. This one was truly a pain in every way. The S version is much simpler but I actually haven’t been able to get that one to fully work just yet. That’s not the model’s fault, I just haven’t really spent the time to try and get everything working smoothly. But yeah, when I saw the like 30 different parts of this version I bailed lol

Hey one question how did you make the hole to the thing of the outer thing since the little holes didn’t want to print for me

Is it possible for you to share the settings you set on your printer and a close up picture or video focusing completely on the catchers in the inner blade and their contact with the main base?

I just used generic 0.2mm layers and 20% infill, the higher settings you use will definitely give you a better slide as there is not much room for error at all

how do the cathers lock the blade outside? for me, it keeps the blade for fully extracting until the cathers are pressed

On the inside blade the 2 catchers slow the entire blade down and I don't k iw how to fix it. The blade won't extend full or retract fully. I've tried sanding, and putting graphite on it. What else can I do?

Always hard to figure out why, maybe it could be the rubber band is too strong and putting too much pressure on it, check if the pins are in the right spot, keep stripping away 1 component at a time trying to see if any one thing is causing it to not move. Lemme know if you get it fixed!!!

Acknowledge who designed BY NAME at the beginning of the video earlier next time imo. Doing it at the 7:00 timestamp is way too late. It's thanks to them you were able to make this video. This isn't a reference at the end of a paper, this is someone else's work that you are using. Cool video though.

He didn't design this version of the HB, got it from thingiverse and they also didn't shout them out, even though, some of it is their design, OTF knives, however, have been around longer than any of us.
