I think a design more like a mortar would be more efficient. Since their is a sealing diameter towards the top of the rocket the co2 won’t escape around the rocket before it’s done exiting the tube

Quite neat! Doesn’t it have some form of a nozzle? Is it liable to make a de laval nozzle at the bottom of the rocket to improve performance?

No nozzle development yet! I’ll definitely look into the de laval nozzle though.

i really wanted to like it, i really did. theres a lot of things not quite right in the optimal department and in the safety department lol, just a thought i think it would be better if the rocket was a tight fit and the way to launch it was more controllable, like put the back plate on a spring that requires u to tap it on the ground to make the nail reach the co2, better safety and you can probably print it to fit the tube better making it go further and safer.

Totally valid concerns, good sir! I’ve been working on tackling those issues since making this video. The main development up until August was getting a functional rocket, and since then development has been focused on a rocket launcher. Make sure to stay tuned in for updates!

How big is your pvc pipe ? I can only find a 40mm one

@@Freddo-World The inner diameter of my pipe is 1.71" or 43.5 mm. If you measure the inner and outer diameter of your pipe and send it to me then I'll modify the design and send the updated fin stl to you for free. Check out my video on what pipe to buy: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKxmsamYmJSnlNo.html Would love to continue this conversation over email: gi.joerockets@gmail.com

@@RocketsAndRec thanks for the info, I made a few adjustments in de design for a different nail, didn’t hAd the right nails, futher the nail really has to be inside the tip and not stick out other it doesn’t launch, u also have to push it hard inside it for a good launch, haha I shoot 15 capsules to make the model good and discover the important things to launch it good

@@Freddo-World Glad to hear you're enjoying the design! I plan on finishing the first iteration of a rocket launcher here soon that'll work with this rocket and eliminate a lot of the problems with the pipe. I've tried tweaking the design to make other diameter nails usable but haven't settled yet. I'm always open to suggestions.

wouldnt it go even faster if the fit was air tight? So that more pressure can build up behind the rocket?
