@UAVfutures I started fpv several years ago and would watch as much videos from anyone I could find to absorb as much information about this aspect of the hobby. I come from LOS fixed wings and helicopters and transitioned to fpv and got hooked.
Hi Stu - inspiring as usual. I'm still a newbie on sims and awful at it. I keep up with the tech watching your videos. I bought my first bit of kit (Radiomaster Pocket) after watching your channel. You got me started (now your responsible) and I am slowly slowly learning the FPV lingo. I can't believe how much skill goes into acro flying. Full respect to all that can.

@@devilsreject78 There is def a difference, but the SIM does give you the muscle memory needed. And its free to crash. Lol I have over 1000 hours just in Velocidrone, and would not fly any where near like I do without it.

@@ozsuncoast That you kno its going to happen, at least you can mentally prepare. Lol It still hurts tho. None of us want to make the walk of shame, and go pick up a broken quad. I cant afford to replace stuff every time I go fly, so I find myself flying the SIM a lot. But ultimately, there is no replacement for real life flying. Sitting comfortable in your home flying is mentally different then being outside. Just have to find a happy balance.
Great video thanks for all your hard work! Keep em coming!

@@UAVfutures awesome bud, thanks. getting ready to put a pack on my back and explore a remote region of North - Western Australia. Setting up a base camp North of Berkeley River system. drop off by sea plane. Will have solar power and Starlink Satellite, so will have contact with the outside world. filming, exploring, hunting, looking for fresh water lol. big mish. everything needs to be light weight and man packable. filming the solo adventure. will be in there for a couple of years... bit of a survivor series i suppose. your help would be fantastic and more than appreciated. a drone would increase my overland range with the ability to find fresh water. What's nice about Caddx Walksnail system is it's got the 1S VTXs that I have been using in my Micros. Now they have released 4K BNF it's icing on the cake so nice.

he didnt actually lol. probably didnt even see it, plus it was only for liek 2 seconds but we did laugh about it.
I'm a newbie with about 60 hours of sim time on liftoff on steam. I have a THFS2 kit from betafpv that isn't the best. The goggles and controller are not good and the rates on the THFS2 are not good. I am really considering the Goggles X as it can do analog, Digital WS, and HD Zero and I'm not locked in to DJI. Not to mention everything going on with DJI in the US. I also like how the WS air units are lighter and I can use whoops. It might be a bit much for a beginner to buy the Goggles X but they seem to have decent resale value if I absolutely don't like them or fall off the hobby. Thoughts?
Woah
Damn that's a nice park! What part of Australia is that? I'm new to fpv, looking at getting caddx but not sure on what vtx and goggles are compatible..

@@UAVfutures Dang, that's smooth, pretty damn smooth for the price point, that's for sure. Also, see kids, this is what happens when Stu The Editor forgets to put in footage that Stu The Host mentioned, and instead of BS'ing about it the way other channels do, just goes finds and links it so we can all go see the same samples and make informed decisions. :) This one's going on my shopping list for 'scary indoor moster hunting the hero POV' tracking shots.

@UAVfutures personally I would tread carefully with that time slot, there’s a lot of streams on Sunday evening (other parts of the world) already. Just need to ensure you’re not stepping on any toes or dividing audiences like bot said.
For me its a difficult decision. When you look at say an Avata 2 kit compared to this drone as a newbe. The cost and certanty that a DJI kit will work out of the box. Its the unknown when you buy components. the worry if they will talk to each other . Im up north Queensland. Then i have to wait weeks to get or correct a mistake. I like your channel leaning towards a drone that is not DJI.
Avata for me, I love mine stu, but that little thing is a ripper as far as speed goes.

I'd LOVE an Avata 2 in the UK, but since I'm somewhat of a loner (enjoy my own company), I'd never have a "SPOTTER" with me so wouldn't by LAW be able to even take off! 😟
@UAVfutures
Ай бұрын
whats it like with the avata with the laws over there?
@cusuk366
Ай бұрын
@@UAVfutures Hi Stew! :) The Drone laws seem to be getting worse by the day!. With any drone, you need to be able to physically see your drone with the naked eye at ALL times and also be able to see the actual orientation of the drone too WITHOUT any added lights / bright stickers / using the camera display / binoculars etc, meaning you cant go very far at all. So for example with a Mini 4 Pro which has a few miles range, you can maybe go a few hundred meters..or until you cannot tell which side of the drone is facing you just by looking at it. With FPV, because you have goggles on and therefore cannot physically see your drone in the sky, you cant even take off (By LAW) unless you have a designated spotter to watch the drone for you and monitor for any people hazards and again, ALL the rules above apply. I suffer with mental health hence the being a "loner" and FPV would have been a wonderful tool / hobby to get me out of the house and would have been something I would absolutely love to do. Probably would have helped me have something to talk to people about too (strangers intruiged by it), again helping my mental health. I've been following the hobby through your channel (and JB / BG etc) for years and spent MANY hours in the simulators with the 1 piece of gear I bought, a Jumper T-lite to get me started (well 2 pieces...I also have a UAV Futures Battery Strap!! 😁) , but seems due to law that FPV's never going to be a thing for me ☹ So sorry I went off on a tangent / rant 😊 I'm just so disheartened with the way drone laws are. ...basically UK law = Nobody with me = no FPV ❤
Another shrimp on the barbie!

@@ostrichrl6860 no, but it’s worded in a way that tries to present this as an inexpensive alternative to the DJI Avata 2, which is all the rage right now.
