@@painexotic3757 I agree in a big picture way. The employer demonstrated having more respect for keeping their books in order than the value of a good employee. It's not a stupid move, if the bottom line outweighs keeping hard workers who pay attention.

Not quitting gets you stuck working at a craft store for 8 years, and leaving at $10.81/hr.

I am 29, no college degree, working as a framing labor from 9-5. Learning coding has been an obsessive idea of mine since I was 24. But because of worklife, lack of dedication, and lack of motivation, I have wasted those past 5 years. This year I have decided to give it my all. Seeing someone achieve what I desire by himself, truly motivates me. I salute you. 👏

@@rootstechnology actually tax bracket in US jumps up at around $40K income, so they saved you money there probably, because if they gave you above $40K you'd be taxed 12% instead of 10% if it's below $40K.

I'm in the same boat man, I'm only 27 but I've been an arborist for 5 years and did construction before that. I'm burnt out on blue collar work and I'm starting to think about what I want my future to look like. Always loved working with computers on the side and I'm slowly learning programming on the side. No, you aren't wasting your time at all. To help you be more effective, I recommend you find a mentor that can help guide and tutor you, and that you learn React JS and Python, along with all the other tools and technologies you'll need to know in between. This is so inspiring! I’m currently a Graphic Designer and just started Code Academy to learn Web Development. Coding is so intriguing to me and am enjoying the lessons so far! I will definitely look into working with you in the future for anything I am unable to learn through Code Academy!

@@user-qy6tu9ip9v Yes! Math has nothing to do with learning to code. The most math you'll do in web development is usually counting from 1-12. That's just adding, and I'm sure you can do that.

@@rootstechnology Thank you, Tolu. I am currently suffering from mental illness and I honestly feel like committing suicide. I am currently taking anti-depressants and they are slowly working. My memory has been affected by my depression and anxiety. I struggle to retain information and I oftentimes feel like giving up. I feel so useless. Thank you for cheering me up and making me feel decent about myself, brother. I wish you nothing but the best life possible. Take care.

What everyone missed was the deadline he gave himself. He manifested that date by writing it down. Everything else went unscripted. Dont dream, write down what you want, when you want it and never look at that note again. If you read this, tomorrow will bring success.

@@ACTUALLYrussell Yeah, you can create a deadline for multiple goals. I just picked a date that I wanted to have the goal done by, then put it on a piece of paper and hung it up by my desk where I saw it every single day! It was a constant reminder, so it was always on my mind. I think that's the key. Write the goal down, then make it visible to see everyday as a reminder.

I know that it’s almost a year later but thank you so much for making this video. I also have a nutrition background but I have recently turned to learning how to code. Hey Simone! That's great you've started teaching yourself! Are you learning Python because you're interested in Data Science? Because if not, and you're learning Python to be a developer/software engineer, then you should start by learning web development fundamentals first, in case you haven't already, and that's HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. That's because when building websites with Python, you need to know the basics of building websites before you even start learning Python. Otherwise, you'll have to come back to learn web development fundamentals anyways when it comes to building Python projects, so it's better to start at the beginning then in the middle, and have to go back. Don't give up.. I'm also stuck with Javascript and having some difficulties along the way.. :P BUT we'll understand hard topics one day.. It takes time and constant practice. Just enjoy the process. It's a climb towards our goals.

Thanks for sharing. The major thing I learned from this is how important it is to be open and share. It's easy to keep things to yourself and be comfortable, but by being proactive and open, you were able to bring multiple opportunities to you.
