Very cool. I ran some in my Bobcat nearly a year ago but had so many issues in video production that I never published the video. I never got velocity reads, then in 4 layer denim and 10% Clear Ballistics (no MDF like normal) I got just 8" penetration and the bullet split in half, looked like it glanced off a brick or something, and that was it. Then I did a shot with the bologna pack and MDF into gel. In that shot I got like 6" in the gel after the pack and a traditional HP expansion of .342".

These are optimized for a bit more barrel, probably even longer than the LCP II.
You deserve so many more subscribers!!! Thanks for all the test you do !
Pretty impressive results!
Thank you for the test brother
Thank you for an excellent video.
Great video. Shows what happens when the petals do not deploy the same way each time,
If I was going to carry a 22LR pistol i'd carry Velocitor in it. Thanks for the tests, more data is good.
Finally, someone uses a T-shirt!!! hurray nice video.
Good velocity for such a short barrel and decent performance on the gel. The second one especially. I think I would probably just use Mini-Mag or Stingers. I might grab some Silver Tip to test on some Wild Hogs. I do like the fact that it dumps energy fast. Lots of time a HP or Solid 22 at low velocity will not expand and over penetrate. Good test though👍🇺🇸
Tried the first mag of Silvertips last night. Not a single round ejected or cycled, and this was after carefully polishing the feed ramp, cleaning and lubing the slide and action. Round-nosed Mini Mags and Golden Bullets seem to run ok.
Absolutely love my SR 22 but recently fell in love with my TX 22. Fits my large hand better and 17 rounds. Run the Silvertips

The Silvertips do better than I expected. Planning more tests... I did acquire a couple longer barrel handguns for .22
Winchester makes the Browning ammo.

I know. But they coat the Silvertips with something different... Maybe I'll do a comparison shoot. (I shot the Browning version three months ago.)
Based on this test, this load had a 50% failure/sucess rate. That is pretty typical of Winchester .22 rimfire ammo. Winchester .22 typically has a high rate of failure to fire, failure to feed, failure to eject, failure to cycle the slide, and/or failure of the projectile to perform.
Based upon today's gel test, Dave, it appears to me that the .22 SilverTip would be more appropriate to feed a rifle that's used to dispatch small varmints than for EDC.

I'd like to try it out of a bit longer barrel. I'm not sure a full 16" rifle barrel would be necessary.

In my opinion the gold standard for personal defense in .22lr from a pistol is the Federal Punch (with superior penetration)
I think I'll keep my SR22. Yeah, it's a bit bigger, but I've put MANY rounds through it from MANY different manufacturers and have yet to have any FTF's or FTE's. I have had a few "Failure-to-Fires", but I attribute that to the ammo, not the gun itself.

I'm seriously contemplating trading up to an SR22.
Interesting. Those would definitely ruin your day. I wonder how a 38Spl wadcutter would compare in the same block as a good 22lr.

It would make a bigger deeper hole. Half as many bigger deeper holes. Whereas 380 flat nose would make more holes than the 38, identical in size to that of the 38 special.

Good test , my bobcat likes them but my sr22 doesn't
Win. produces some good projectiles. Unfortunately I don't trust it as I find it to be unreliable, too many misfires. I stick with CCI for carry purposes.
Hey brother. Been contemplating gettin one of them lcp II's. Your channel has been super beneficial. Would you bank your life on that thing?

Having owned every model of LCP ever made, I highly recommend you get the LCP Max instead. 13rds of 380 and night sights, plus a slightly fatter grip makes it a much, much easier gun to shoot. And it only weighs 1 oz more than the LCP II.

The problem is not the gun, it's the caliber. 22 will work, but I would definitely want a centerfire for the reliability, and the 380 versions are the same size/weight.

Nope. Too many FTEs. I thought they had cleared up but I had one again this week.

Yes! Although I think a more accurate pistol might be in order for that... (stay tuned for updates).
Try them out of a 10/22 for velocity. (if you have one)

I would normally agree, but these are made for 3.5" barrels. I just traded in the Ruger for a .22 with a 3.4" barrel - will test the Silvertips again!
If the 22 penrtrates 13 inches would that be over penetration in a defense encounter?

No, the FBI window is 12 to 18 inches of gel. 13" is good.
