I have the same cheap floor mount, it aligns great on the floor, but not on my passenger seat. How did you get it to line-up on ur seats? Did you drill holes? My problem is, the whole bracket is too narrow for the passenger seat...what do I do?

I actually don’t recall what I did. I may have drilled holes but I feel like everything lined up. I ended up getting Corbeau seats with their brackets

i've been looking at aftermarket seats too.. How's the lumbar support on those?

It’s not bad. I had this seat in my Q for a year and drove it daily obviously. Several long trips too with no issues. Sparco also has a lumbar cushion available if you need more

So I was thinking of installing these exact seats in my 350z but my concern was passing inspection. I know that harnesses and a harness bar is an automatic fail because the plug underneath would be unplugged. My question that my Enthusiast model Z has a yellow plug underneath is that going to the seatbealt or is it for the airbag and is it the same on both sides?

@@SpeedCultureStudios and I should be able to pass inspection in NY? So the wire piece underneath is connected to the belt buckle? I thought it was connected to a seat sensor in both seats.

@@DragoMusivini I have no idea what your inspection requirements are. There is an airbag sensor-typically yellow-under the seat. You can use a resistor in that to prevent the airbag light. There is also a plug for the seatbelt. You can keep the fsctory belt and buckle in for use if you’d like.

@@SpeedCultureStudios So one plug for the seatbelt and one for the airbag. Then it should notbe an issue if I retain the original seatbelt and parts. Now as far as the airbag wire you are referring to the piece that is stuffed inside the seat that tells when someone is sitting there correct?

@@SpeedCultureStudios did some more thorough digging. While the aftermarket steering wheel would be a definitive fail for the inspection along with not being able to hook up the airbag wire it would also throw a code in which only Nissan would be able to fix so needless to say it would be me getting screwed from every which way. I do like your concise tutorial though.

Sorry but I've got to comment. What in the hell is that thing on the front of your Z? Is this going to be a rally car with a row of driving lights on it? Or is it something thats suppose to make it look Fast and Furious?

It’s a bash bar buddy lol. It is commonly installed on drift cars. It’s not for looks and a RWD rally car wouldn’t make much sense. It’s to absorb impact while drifting and not ruin the bumper

Did these sit higher or lower than the OEM seats?

Slightly lower I would say, but you can get side mounts and be substantially lower for helmet clearance
