What was the message of Guru Gobind Singh Ji?
This important question was asked to Bhai Sahib Bhai Mohinder Singh by a news reporter in Patna Sahib, Bihar during the 350th Parkash Divas celebrations of Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Bhai Sahib Ji responded and shared:
“Whatever we can say about Guru Ji, it will never be enough. Guru Ji had the unique quality of unifying fire and water, shaster and God.
At this time, I am reminded of:
Where am I from?
What am I here to do?
Where am I heading?
The earth is a place for Dharam - this is what we must practise.
Guru Ji did so much in 42 years. Guru Ji tells us that it was through his intense prayer, he became one with God, it was after this that God sent Guru Ji to the earth - to start the Khalsa Dharam and to teach the Saint-Soldier concept.
But first, our battle is with our inner evils, we must use God given qualities and virtues to beat them.
Guru Ji taught us that we are all ‘one family’. We are here to promote Dharam and to stop oppression
Guru Ji was ‘sampuran kalla samrath’ - complete in all qualities. We can never recount Guru Ji’s qualities - there are too many.”
2017 marks a very special year, as Sikhs celebrate the 350th Parkash Divas of Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji, tenth Guru of the Sikhs who was born at the place marked by the shrine called Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib in Bihar.
The paramount purpose of celebrating Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s 350th Prakash Purab is to pay loving tribute to the Saint-Soldier Guru, who not only created the Khalsa fraternity, but also blessed Sikhs with the highest exalted spiritual authority - Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
