35 YEARS LATER, girl meets the fishermen who rescued her from sea. | Dads Also Cry #5
In 1986, 9-year-old Desireé Rodriguez was rescued from the Pacific Ocean by two fishermen after a shipwreck claimed the lives of her father, mother, aunt, uncle and sister. 35 years later she surprises these hero's and gets to say thank you in person. This is just one of the stories showcased in todays compilation.

"You guys are heroes." One shrugs and looks uncomfortable with the title. The other just stares blankly, as if to say: "No, we just did what anyone would have done." Both reacted like... heroes. Heroes don't boast about their deeds. They don't pat themselves on the back. They just do what needs to be done. Because they should.

    2 жыл бұрын

@@havefuntazarasu5367 Giving money to the less fortunate is a good thing, always. However... why are they videoing themselves doing so? That's a set up. They are looking for the "pat on the back" from others, for the applause. For the "You are a wonderful person!" that people will tell them. That is their reward, and they got it, and it's empty. Fame always is. When someone does a truly good deed that comes from the heart, they do it in as much silence as possible. They do it without planning to, or setting up a record of it, or even try to be as secretive as possible about it. A man in France climbs five floors of the outside of a building to save a child. He didn't set up the camera and plan it, he was caught on camera by someone he did not know. He just did the right thing when the opportunity came for it. Or these two gentlemen in this vid: they saved a life and were just so overjoyed that the little girl got to grow up to be a woman and have a life that they burst into tears. They weren't bragging. "We're not heroes" they say, and back away from the praise. Why? Because praise from fellow humans is empty. Means nothing. And if you go seeking that type of praise, you'll get it... and end up with as much nothing as you started with. You do the right thing just to do it, to please the Father in Heaven. When he rewards, it'll be for eternity.

I lost it when the fishermen and the host and survivor all cried in unison. What a beautiful and proud moment. All the clips in this video were really really cool and very touching. And the ending with the dad saluting his son, that was making me cry too. That was very very neat and beautiful.

The one with the fisherman is just amazing. It shows just how great people really can be and to be honest just a breathe of fresh air giving that most everything you see on social media is bad. God bless these 2 guys and hats of to TRUE heroes.

I had seen the rescue story before and it makes me cry every time I see it. The interview is a lot longer than what they show here. They had me fooled that she was an interpreter all the way to the reveal and their shock reflected my own. Very moving. I just have to say, the medal story, that grandson looks so much like grandfather. Could easily pass for an age progression image of the grandfather.

I worked as a Rescue Specialist for the Canadian Coast Guard Search & Rescue for more than 20 years. The rescued girl story brought back many memories for me , of uniting families , saving lives and unfortunately giving closure to families by retrieving their lost ones who weren't so fortunate. How fortunate I was to have such an awarding job. Great story . I've got a million of them.

To answer a question, the Lt. gave his father his cadet pin. Normally a Lt., when he/she has completed OCS would give that pin to their senior drill instructor, but in this case I think an exception was allowed.

Knowing that because of your efforts, another human life was saved and grew up to live a full happy life is more valuable than all the riches in the world. Knowing that your existence in this life meant and was worth something.
