For anyone upset about the title, the average KZreadr on running niche videos probably does not know who Sara Vaughn is like we do. Consider this so-called click bait title a more effective way for Vaughn to get her name more exposed to the general running population, more-so than putting her specific name in the title ever would.

"Spectator friendly starting line"?? You're kidding, right? 100 people in attendance. Gotta be one of the funniest track announcer comments of all time. And that is quite tough with so many Larry Rawson clips to contend with. Not really his fault though, its the meet director. I didn't even know this meet, and I live pretty close to SAC. Thousands of SAC area track fans had no clue about this meet. This is truly a great stadium, this is one of the great underrated track stadiums in the world.

It's notable that she's old for a middle distance runner. There are thousands of amateurs who aren't as fast as they used to be, many pros who are full time and can barely keep up with their training schedules much less have a job and be a parent and keep up with training, and there are a ton of pros who retired long before 35 because they couldn't keep up with the field anymore... It's seriously impressive!

Running and cycling are two entirely different animals . Ive done numerous triathlons and the most unfair event of the three disciplines is the bike. Where swimming and running require sheer individual ability, it's the athlete with the best, most expensive bike that has the advantage. I compete with a bike worth about $1,400 but I get whipped by guys (and a big percentage of women) that cruise by me with $3,500 rockets but can't touch me in the swim/run stages. I can't tell you how many triathlons I've been in where I come out of the water ahead of competitors , get buried with faster, lighter, more technologically advanced bikes, than having to flag them all down with sheer running guts...

  • @andrearatkovic4048

@@douglasmiller346 I raced pro as a triathlete, a cyclist, and as a runner, and the best cyclists don’t need the most expensive bikes to win. The same can be said then about Nike’s new carbon racing shoes which many elites wear but are out of most peoples’ price range. Also, I mentioned time trialing, not road racing, as the comparison which is an individual effort against the clock.

Have y’all considered changing this very sexist title? Does this 35 year old mom have a name? Are they not also a professional?

If you knew sara vaughn(the winner in this vid) you’d know she’s a proud mother who calls herself “mother runner”. That’s kind of her thing, so this tittle wouldn’t offend her. In fact, she’d probably love seeing this title as it recognizes that even while she’s a mother of 4, she can still run at an elite level. Just look at the club name she ran under for this meet lol “&mother”.

@@jonnyrg7489 Some people are just eager to be offended. They get satisfaction when people comply to their offended disposition.

You're crying about it but she definitely isn't. Definition of a loser.
