Thanks dude. I'll be sure to tell him your comment about his boat. I am certain he will not think it amicable. That's the part I am looking forward to the most.

Glad to see you back at it. The boat looks great!!! My shoulders are hurting just watching you sand. Keep up the good work.

Appreciate it. Shoulders and fingers, especially when working on the hull sides from the knees. But everyday we are closer to being done.

Good to see you back. Once you get it all one color, it’ll make all the difference.

I think it will make a huge difference it all being one color. At least for a little while anyway. One step at a time and these have been the toughest steps. Appreciate it.

Looks amazing. I flipped last weekend and am glassing the hull bottom tomorrow. Thanks for keeping us inspired!

Well I hope this finds you in time, but when you glass, come directly behind that and put on fairing so you don’t have to sand between. Just a thin coat like Adam shows in his videos. Then get ready for the fun stuff.

I was so pleased to see this pop up in my timeline-was worried something happened and you had to stop the build. Steady progress. Excited to see the heavy build go on!

Just life getting in the way. I will finish the boat at some point. Obviously not as efficiently as i would have hoped, but the journey is the reward. I could have bought a manufactured boat and been fishing, but this is something I have always wanted to do and I aim to see it to completion.

@@Bigeaux20 I totally get it. There is absolutely something special about building the boat. If you can then go out and have that boat be a great, purpose-built tool to help you catch fish more effectively, that is even more special!

I did the “rattle can” black guide coat and I highly recommend you do the graphite powder instead. Much easier. The paint in the rattle can created another layer to sand down

Yeah I don’t need any steps that will require more sanding. But, I will do what it takes to get the best finish I am capable of obtaining. That’s my goal. You keep at it too sir.

Yep, fairing is tricky and time consuming! The best advice I could give is to skim as thin as you can in order to fill the fiberglass weave. Too little, and you'll have to come back and add more. Too much, and you'll spends hours sanding it out. While my project has been fun, if or when I build another, I have to come with a design that will be quicker to build.

I think the toughest part has been the learning curve. As with anything, the next time I do this process it will take 1/5 of the time and effort. Even then for someone who does this everyday, it would take less time and effort still. But it’s my project, and I’ve put in the effort. Even if it was ignorance on my part, I didn’t cut corners. Best of luck to you on your projects.
