Plug it into the 12volt/20 amp outlet and it will work. The cover on the outlet will tell you what the amp output is. The outlet in the front of the truck is 10amps but usually the one under the bunk lid right beside your calf when sitting on the bed is a 20 amp or the one on the sidewall (where your tv goes may be it)...

@@raymondwilliams5017 you need to hook it up to the battery directory not the 12v. The 12v outlet can only support 120 watts.

I have the same exact one (400w) and for some reason my ps4 keeps shutting down..... I tried connecting it to the cigarette lighter and it lit up but didn’t stay on. So then I tried running it to the battery and it Worked for a bit then it turned off. I’m not sure what’s happening. I have the first Gen PS4 500gb...... Any Ideas????

I know that your not talking to me. While I did not have the exact model in this video. I had a 300watt inverter that worked to years. it took a bad battery and my tinkering to finally do in ! But if used correctly, even these small inverters will work for years . PEACE !!!!1

I bought one about a couple months ago and only used it to charge my laptop which should have been easy. It just turned off and will not come back on. Also when I plug it in to my outlets it started blowing the fuses in the truck. Then stopped working and stopped blowing fuses. So I will definitely try and return it. Anyone else have that issue?

I am Afro American and I speak English very well. In fact many of us do. My German is fairly good as well.

For everyone wondering, this is not the proper way to go about this, if you want to do this you have to connect it directly to the battery. Figure out the starting wattage, and continues wattage of the devices your using, the inverters also have a certain wattage set for continues wattage The issue with the cigarette lighter adapter is its usually rated at 15amps, which means the inverter can only use about 100-200watts of power even if it exceeds that it won't be able to go beyond due to the wiring setup in the vehicle. This type of install is not that hard, but please always uses fuses, mount the inverter somewhere with ventilation. Most of these inverters come with those battery clamps with fuses at near the end of the positive cables, the clamps can be removed, which can be used with ring terminals and extended with similar gauge wiring, make sure you use the same or greater sized gauge wiring, and if possible keep the distance from the inverter to the battery as close as possible.

@Brian David you don't really need that if your just powering a TV and PS5. Maybe if you were using a microwave or toaster something with heavy power usage while driving the car then yea, but the extra battery would just make the electrical system work harder in the car, to properly get the second battery functioning properly you would likely need to upgrade to the "Big 3" and get a higher amp alternator. Like I said previously, if you plan on just using a TV and PS5 while the car is running of course, you can even run a microwave or something if the inverter is rated for one as long as the car is parked and the inverter is rated for it then you wouldn't need anything extra, 2nd battery is just overkill. Secondary battery is used just to have a reserve of energy when the vehicle needs it, usually in a high performance sound system, or vehicle with heavy electrical usage while driving, Heavy machinery sometimes have dual battery's(24v), etc... EDIT* I didn't really pay attention to your question, you CANNOT run a battery on its own if your speaking about a 12v battery it needs to be charged somehow which Is what the alternator does. Believe me if you hook it up directly to battery it's not going to ruin the life of the battery by all that much a PS5 and TV is not that bad amperage wise
