Thanks! You helped me fix my controller. Turns out when I threw my controller the cable inside bent in a weird way and lost connection. So I just had to reroute it and now it works:)

Hey so because of this I found the best solution is to take the backing off any controller you replaced for issues OTHER THAN charging and attach that onto the one having charging issues.

I'll post a pic of what I did earlier and link it, since im sure plenty have extra controllers that dont have charging problems. I now have a customer black and red controller because of YOU!!!

I have ps4 controller i checked the voltage input to the battery socket reading 1.2v not 5v so the battery not charge. Please tell me what to do?

Assalamualaikum sir. I have problem the ps button is not functioning even connected to console in safe mode. My controller have water damaged due to flood. Any advice to solve this? Charger port seem working as the light is blinking when connect to charger. Suspected battery damaged as well as it seem not charged.

Hey, I got a new 12 pin strip ribbon cable from an old PS4 controller I have but it’s not working when I put it in the new controller, why does it not work with the new controller? Are the 12 pin strip ribbon cables specific to each model? I thought they’d be universally used.

the ribbon cable is just 1 to 1 direct connected wires. while inserting in the connector, just take care for the connector direction on the ribbon cable ribbon cable's contacts must mesh with the contacts of the connector if it is not working then might be charging port or charging control IC have something wrong

@@HaseebElectronics that’s not the issue. The ribbon cable doesn’t work specifically for the controller I’m trying for. When I use in the old controller (that i got it from) it seems to work in that one perfectly fine. I want to know do these ribbon cables work for any and all models of the dualshock 4 controllers or are they set out for specific ones? I’ve control tested everything else, surely the ribbon cables are specific to a certain model. It can’t be anything else but that, since like I have stated I have control tested. Can you confirm this or are you unsure?

Same thing here mine just went out. I changed the battery on it (due to it going dead so fast) then the next day. I try to power it on. nothing at all. No lights No nothing I even went ahead and try the new 1 on my 2nd battery to make sure that it works and it dose but it seems like my other controller just went out ofc I put in a new ribbon to see but no luck so 100% that the motherboard or soemthing went out on it

It shows that it gets energy and that it's "recharging" but it has 0% so I guess it's the battery even if it doesn't look damaged

I accidentally broke the connector on my motherboard of the ps4 controller. In which the ribbon from the usb gets connected how do I fix it?

Mine does something similar but the white led pops on but doesn’t charge. Do you think the ribbon cable would solve the issue?

Mine battery already change but still not charging..it can be use if you using usb cable entire time

First thing I checked was this ribbon, but it passes voltage just fine. Still it won't reach the battery, so I guess it's some issue with the main pcb.

if ribbon cable than the most problematic issue is charging controller IC, the large chip in the PCB, if it is heating up, the most of time it is ENDED

​@@HaseebElectronics If it was the large chip overheating you mention, it would draw at least a little power, but it draws 0 amps, so there must something else.

if it is not overheating, then check for disconnections in the circuit, charging port, ribbon cable, jacks and ensure its matting with ribbon cable

@@HaseebElectronics I went through my remote the battery looks fine isn’t warped but it did take a lot of heat after replugging in the ribbon cable do you think the cable caused that or is my motherboard done ?

@@josephrodriguez8614 it seems that you have some issue with battery or motherboard. specially battery management system any time when the battery gets overcharged or reversed, it gets heating up

my controller is working with charging cable but not increasing battery cell..any solution?otherwise i have to use it through wired cable..

might be battery have something wrong. in this situation battery can be replaced or may be battery charging control section is working properly, most of time this situation becomes irreparable

@@HaseebElectronics i dont know,maybe the previous shop keeper changed my battery...because before repair my controller is workng fine,and the problem fix after changing charging port,,maybe he thinks that my controller is irrepairable,so he change my battry with his non working battery..

After a repair I did for my controller while it receives power it will not charge it will turn on then off though

I need help i put a new battery in put it wont carge and not turn on and the charger still works

Controller charging ke douran red light de raha tha, aur disconnected mein purple, 2 3 din baad bilkul dead hogaya aur charge nahi horaha

best regard yes dear tools are the basic requirement for service engineer or technician, tool works practically and the technical mind is used only to drive the tools otherwise any technical mind with proper tools is totally useless.

there are four items in this charging circuit, charging base ribbon cable strip battery and charge controller

the original sony controller dosn't have charging IC, there is a square shape (looking like a processor) that ic have built in DC to DC converter, most of time it heats up and then there is no solution

is ki charging ribbon cable check kr lein, usb connector dekh lein. battery ki kia condition he. in first stage is ka charging circuit good hona chahiey, then further steps

sometimes the problem in the main board, or battery try to replacing battery and check the main charging controller ic for overheat issues

@@BPaccVSbitches when the main ic is heatup that is too hard and becomes beyond economical repair. it's spare parts and repair charges will increase so no need to spend time
