Hey guys! I had no idea Acht uses they/them pronouns. I assumed it was a she/they situation because Japanese Splatoon Twitter refers to Acht with she/her. Apologies if this had bothered you in the video! I'll correct myself in future situations :)

If the JP twitter uses she/they id assume that’d be Achts pronouns then. Unless jp uses both female and neutral pronouns and is just another case of Nintendo not remembering their own games lore again

@@rizirone Acht hasn’t been refrered to with she/her pronouns since Splatoon 2. Ever since they were revealed to be in Side Order they haven’t been referred to with any pronouns in tweets or official Side Order material. (They are also not referred to with pronouns in the interview either!) Splatoon localization has many problems but Acht’s pronouns aren’t one of them. Their use of she/her has been essentially retconned. I see this thrown around as localization messing up a lot- and that’s understandable as Splatoon localization isn’t the most reliable at times- however that that isn’t the case this time.

Acht mentions turning down a position on the front lines of the Octarian army, implying eligibility. Only female Octolings were stationed on the Octarian army front lines. Therefore we can conclude that Acht is female, and as such, referring to her with 'she' is correct. Also, to use a word is to speak or write it; not to have it spoken or written by someone else about you.

Also, even if Acht is cis, cis girls can still use they/them or she/they pronouns lmaooooo When referring to Acht, "she"and "they" are both correct. They aren't mutually exclusive, although right now "they" seems to be the most used one from the original sources, so I think it's better to stick with "they" hehe!

Guys, it's outright confirmed in one of Smollusk's logs under agent 4's pallete. It says that agent four was going to be promoted as the guard of the memverse, but smollusk made agent four a guard of order, meaning agent four is an enemy you encounter. The only enemy that looked like agent four is parallel cannon's leader. Meaning yes, it is a copy of agent four.

This would be the equivalent of buying _600 super sea snails._ If we're assuming the switch games in-universe are the same value as switch games irl ($59.99 USD), then it's just shy of $760,000 spent on this outfit alone. It's also like 10-20x the debt from all my student loans combined. Pearl truly is the 1% lol

Bomb Pew Pew Enemy is like the Splatoon version of Sparky Sparky Boom Man from Avatar the Last Airbender

I always thought the falling stuff was marine snow, y'know, little bits of dead plankton and other tiny critters from the sunlight zone sinking to the bottom and accumulating in a silty paste on the seafloor. Though maybe it still is, in a way; the remains of the destroyed memories sinking to the bottom of the tower, likely to feed the curious lifeforms residing down there. Perhaps they then forge their own memories, thus starting the cycle anew?

oh, fun fact: the pinging marciale (pronounced “march-all-e” to my knowledge(I could be wrong) is named after an instructive music term meaning ‘to play as a march’!!

9:14 I had gotten the idea that the shadowy figure on the top of the Asynchronous Rondo was Agent 4 because of the hairstyle it had. When I fought Parallel Canon for the first time (I had confirmed at the beginning of S3 that I had played S2), she had the same hairstyle as my S2 hairstyle. It made me really happy that Nintendo didn’t forget about Agent 4.

Another little fun fact about Pearl: When outside the Spire of Order, if you spin in circles, she'll fly high up! Made me laugh the first time I saw it.

I want to go back in time into another universe where we choose order to win the splatfest to see what the chaos dlc would be like

Well concept art is just that - concepts. They’re meant to invoke a feeling over solid ideas, which is why so much of it was changed or scrapped. It’s pretty normal when anything is being made, since it can be harder to invoke some emotions or ideas in a video game than in a single art piece.

@@GreenNinj4 the thing is, we don’t know what the early concepts even were, so any “good” ideas are just speculation on our part. How do you know the early concepts were good, aside from your own assumptions based on the art? We don’t even know if that concept art was actually used in development, or if it was just used to make the trailer more interesting. Even if the early ideas were “good”, it might not have been possible to implement with their development schedule, budget, or demands from higher ups. So many factors go into making a game, and concept art is always completely different from the final game because it’s exploratory - figuring out which ideas are good and can fit into their game before implementing them. Besides, I would argue Side Order is far from “bland” anyways lol

@@everest5718 We fight an AI again, 8 has no developement, Dedf1sh does nothing, the gameplay is too repetitive because theres only 3 bosses and 5 objectives and the final boss follows the same formular the previous 4 did. They didnt care to write a cool story and just put everything in the dev diaries, which are 60% Marina saying that they are on worldtour and bland programming stuff, while the interesting parts gets rushed. You dont even have an interaction with the character who‘s soul you free nor did they care to show 8 or Dedf1sh getting their memory back. Its the definition of a bland lol.

I noticed the beta promo art advertised an military looking splattershot with a lot of gadgets add to it. Honestly using physical gadgets as the visual indicators for upgrades would’ve been hard to implement because then they would have to make different gadget design with a lot of 3d models for every and each weapon. And honestly, the glowing lights feature is easily a much better approach both visually and practically.

The plastic parts in the background in parallel cannons fight *are* actually the ones on the jelletons just a lot bigger (take note of the wheel from the ones that run around and the little red circles that are used on all the jelletons eyes)

10:33 So many friends have found memories about their times on school.... but me on the other hand I don't remember that much. I just remember I existed and that they were friends somehow. When they speak about those cool memories, I feel bad because I really cannot remember those. I think I had some sort of attention deficency at that time, and I just don't have that many memories. oh god that made me feel bad. But maybe instead of lamenting the past I don't have, I should be thinking about the future. Really cool collection of fun facts about side order. Its so cool the lore this game has. I even wish there were another side order continuation, to have more cool gameplay and many more interesting lore about it.

I wonder if we will have a chance to see Agent 4 in the future. Maybe when there's a potential Splatoon 4? Despite the fact that they are a powerful Agent due to our guidance and the help of Marie and Sheldon, I feel like they deserve much more needed attention since the ones that got A LOT of attention were (Old) Agent 3/Captain 3, Agent 8 and Neo/New Agent 3. I honestly feel like they would probably have a vital role in a future Splatoon game since we rarely ever see them, the closest thing we got to them was their Palette and the Parallel Canon after all.

She wasn't pointless. For me, it's still insane she got to be in the game *at all*. Just like Harmony: suddenly a character we only knew from the band posters is actually here in Splatoon. We always found out more info from Art books or magazines.

‚Acht‘ is the German word for ‚eight‘. the „ch“ -sound is pronounced a little differently in german, while In English it’s used as a softer „k“ - sound, so I wouldn’t say it’s pronounced like ‚oct’ exactly. I wouldn’t know how to spell out the German pronounciation in text form though.

We get a nice lore dump/behind the scenes look at this amazing DLC and half the comments are talking about Acht's pronouns lmao. I support real, living, breathing people's preferences and pronouns all day long, but damn guys, SHE'S NOT REAL. How is that what you got hung up on? Besides, there's too much conflicting information apparently. Japanese twitter says "she/her" and that "they/them" is a mistranslation, and other people are saying that it's not true that it's a mistranslation. Everyone's mixed up and no one can confirm anything lmao.

Not really, actually (Though kind of). On the official page they are refered to as a "she" and so they are in Octo Expansion. What exactly happened is unknown, maybe it's a she/they situation, maybe they came out as non-binary sometime between the games, it's up to headcanon. But condidering the official page still uses She/her these pronouns are still valid to use.

​@@helion_ut Iirc in japan they were always referred with gender neutral pronouns and it was just mistranslated in Splat 2 / Octo Expansion. Acht is exclusively referred with they in Side Order. Using she would still be incorrect going by this logic, but I could always be wrong y'know, I'm only human! I think you should do your own research on the matter if you're interested, I plan on doing so too! :D I think it's better to refer to them with they personally cuz it helps me getting better with people's pronouns irl! Y'know having the whole habit of if someone looks feminine they use she and vice versa is a very hard habit to break. So getting practice like that is always good y'know you wouldn't wanna use the wrong pronouns n all!
