what's devastating about the last one is that shortly before suicide, people often have a period of enhanced mood which gives people around them false reassurance this boost is caused by internal relief/peace as the individual has come to terms with their death and/or they know suffering will soon be over

100% agreed! it´s statistically proven that about 70% of pictures and videos ped0philes save are innocent in most peoples eyes, they use them to fantasize and it´s really disgusting to think about and to see how many parents actually upload pictures and videos of their children online.

PSA 21 Made me cry. My mom was abused as a child and she keeps reflecting that on me. I promised myself that I will never be like her.

The last one gets me, every time I see it. I love it to be honest, it's a great reminder to not assume someone is happy from how they act. smiles mean more than they seem to. it is quite genius how it is presented. it starts and you are enjoying watching others laughing and smiling, then it is revealed that they have all passed away, and then you are shown more people laughing and smiling, and you realise, how you have no clue how much you don't know about these people, and you have no clue how little the people around them know about them

the eyemoney one was so unsettling, and the jewish hate ones actually made me really emotional - i didn’t even know that antisemitism was on the rise right now. i’m not jewish but i want to thank the organisation for making those psas and spreading awareness about it. also the twelfth one made me physically sick.

So far the most impactful and powerful compilation, hands down. Here are my hot takes, cited below here: PSA 32 does pull at your heartstrings, PSA 23 feels squeamish but does communicate how harrowing maternal mortality feels. PSA 15 communicates well, although I imagined “as the cost of pork rises in your wallet, so does the real cost of where it comes from.” PSA 9 makes you feel helpless, and hits hard at the very end too. PSA 25 definitely plays with your imagination and shows the sobering reality of not preparing for disaster. PSA 28 is the most lighthearted, comedic sendup of “please donate or else”.

I disagree that this was impactfull These newer PSAs failed in a few ways: they had failed gaining my attention, creating shock, and also most of these psas had just shown me the problem, instead of really making it a shock. Also they have an atmosphere that really made me bored, the background music really ruined the 'fast food ads' commercial for me, as an example. Really not impactful comp so far.

In the Garman fiftyfifty one about homelessness in winter, you can see homeless people not showing up on the heat radar because they're too cold before they highlight one. Very well done.

Just came back to this video and I gotta say, PSA 31 was beautifully heartbreaking. It was very nicely done.

I just realized how the backgrounds introducing the PSAs represent part of the upcoming PSA

I was shocked by the words of the last one and had to go back and rewatch it. I was fine rewatching it. And then it ended, and I'm crying like a baby and shaking... as someone that's been in that position, multiple times, I'm so thankful that I was never successful. I was only 13/14, and now sitting here in my college dorm, I've never been more thankful that I failed every time

@@pookiepringles I read a study once, don't know if it's true, but a group of people had been asked or something and it was found that women are far more likely to be abusive in their relationships. Especially lesbian ones. While men in straight/gay relationships were less likely to be or not at all abusive. It was rather skewed considering the differing stuff with people and I'd prefer if they redid it, but regardless, it's an interesting study that says a lot.

What a great video! I've only seen Loved Ones, so all of these are new PSAs to me, so worth the wait!

18:35 Ever since the Rittenhouse case we now need to clarify if you are talking about protecting the children or protecting the predators. Because we now know there is a large, vocal support group in society too. "Protect a pedo, disarm a child."

I haven't seen any PSAs since childhood and I'm a half century old. I suppose it's because I spent so much time in my life without a TV and when I did have one for some reason they weren't on. I haven't had network TV for at least 6 years, just the 'net. I'm finding these fascinating. I'd trade these in for commercials.

That last one though had me crying

There is a pool. 6 feet deep, maybe 10 by 14 feet long. You are standing right on the edge of that pool and turn around, turn your back and look away. How many children could be drowning in there, just behind you? Just one foot behind you and you wouldn't notice. As many as you can fit. Drowning is silent.

I was strong until the last one, that one hit real hard.

Those last ones by the end were like feature length films! Very well directed and shot!

Keep in mind that the ones about Jewish hate are still being shown today. Funny enough, one time I watched this one morning and then that evening the one with the little girl with the spray paint on the garage door was shown on the TV. Truly sickening that this hate towards certain people is still an issue to this day.

I may not be the person you’re talking too but some of my favorites are the Vince and Larry Crash Dummy PSAs; as for the one in this video, it would definitely be the EyeMoney one because I believe it’s important to acknowledge the act of financial abuse within abusive relationships.

As someone who used to have suicidal thoughts, the last psa really got to me. If I didn't get the help I needed, this is how my family would have to see me every day (luckily, I never attempted or even harmed myself but it could have been a possibility)

The one with the rabbit reminds me of an animated short film called A Touch of Deceit.

PSA 26 makes me remember the doot doot meme. 💀💀💀

15 was dumb. Okay, I know animals have to die for us to eat meat, but we can't just give it up. People need meat to stay healthy.

One thing that's definitely getting to me in this compilation is the antisemitism awareness ones. I'm not Jewish nor have I really been raised around people who are, but I have definitely noticed the rise myself and it pissed me off to high end because it is just one of the most gross and unnecessary turns I've seen on a group of people who were doing nothing but existing happen so suddenly. I even had a 16 year old housemate at one point get weirdly invested in Hitler stuff and fortunately it wasn't in what he believed in but just the topic of him, but she was teetering on a thin line a few times and I was so mad each time. Maybe being queer means I have empathy for the unnecessary hate and how fucking vile it is, but I genuinely feel frustration and anger over this stuff rising because of losers who think being offensive for the sake of offense starting up a new wave. This bullshit should be in the past and stay there as an example of something we should never go back to.
