Four days after the attacks September 11, 2001, the 311th Quartermaster Company (Mortuary Affairs) was called up from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to recover the remains of the victims at the Pentagon. This oral history, produced by the U.S. Army Reserve Command Public Affairs office weeks after the attacks, powerfully illustrates the impact the events had on our military personnel.

As the former 1st Shirt of this outstanding unit during and after 9/11 it was a great honor to have lead the soldiers of the 311th QM Collection Company during the search & recovery of the remains and personal effects of the victims at the Pentagon
My father Master SGT Joseph Santiago just died on the 21 of this month... he was the Master Sargent of the 311th.. was in the army for 40 years and is here in this video 😢😢😢. Thursday is the day to watch him and Friday is he's funeral...
