    Jonny On the spot I know I’ve told you before I watch you on a consistent basis catch Stud trout more than any other guys on KZread. I’d like to get down there on some of that free lining action on them size trout. We catch big trout here in Alabama but you have it figured out there in your home waters nice video and nice new boat

    That is a beast mode trout for sure. Lose that nasty green net if you’re gonna release them. It tears them up and rubs their slime coat off. Get your hands wet them grab em. The bigger ones like that produce more eggs which = more trout. I like that no nonsense skiff, perfect for the lagoon

  • @JonnyOnthespot

    @JonnyOnthespot

    Thank you for stopping by and for the great feedback William!! Youre totally right about the net but the problem is, any trout over 27 inches is quite disastrous to get with hands alone.. Ive lost a few very big (over 30 inch) trout trying to wrangle them with my hands.. lets just say I learned my lesson. I like to keep them time to time also. Thanks, I really love it too, she definitely gets the job done!

    Jonny On the spot a trouts mouth is so thin and a big one pulls like a medium sized red and along with the head shakes can rip big holes where the hooks are and they can get away by the boat. (SUCKS). Frabill makes a rubber mesh net that stretches and does less damage to the fish. It’s the same size as yours but it stretches so much I’ve seen a big bull red fit right in it. They have them at Walmart. I live in M.I. maybe I’ll see ya out on the lagoon. Tight lines!

    Youre right, their mouths are very soft in certain spots.. and can open up like a large mouth bass and just back up and spit the bait.. but these instances were from trying to land 30 plus trout with only hands.. have u ever tried it? If you go that route its about a 50/50 chance.. good tip about the net, I will definitely look into that as I do a lot of catch nd release. Hope to see you out there! @@grindiousmaximus

    Jonny On the spot I’ve been on the quest for the elusive 30”+ trout my whole life. I get 25-29’s regularly but can’t break through the barrier. It’s like a cruel joke that the fishing gods are playing on me lol. But yes I always use my hands and can’t remember an instance when I, personally, lost a large one doing it. Although I have witnessed other’s fish spitting the hook while being landed. I’m always very careful when I know it’s a big trout and make sure they’re good and tired before trying to land them. Then I’ll carefully spend however long it takes to revive them and let them swim off when they are strong and ready(and no dolphins around of course)

    LOL that's too funny about the 30 plus, they really are like unicorns. My gf still is after her first over 30, shes come so close and even lost one from a pulled hook just feet away like u say. Very soft mouths and trick to land the big gals! But just take my warning be careful with the 30 plus if you don't have a net...my first I had to wrap it up with my T shirt because there just was no way of putting it in the boat without it or snapping my line..youll see when you get that 30 I promise you, its another part of the cruel joke! I had to learn the hard way, I thought I could land anything with my hands.. then came the 30 plus haha @@grindiousmaximus

    Thanks a bunch Jordan.
