It has come out and yes, it was great

What I like about Necrons is that you could explain an army of them even this big in so short a time without stopping every other unit to point out speshal traits upgrades and war-gears, what you see is what you get.

I love this series already

I have always been more of a fantasy/AoS fan but the playstyle that you describe for the necrons has me really intrigued, and the models looks badass too. I might have to get a box. ;)

I got into 40k literally the week before Necrons returned. They became my standard army for a good six years before having to move. mostly loved them because they were the undead of 40k without the weak flesh of manthings to contend with ;) I miss my mean green living dead machines :D

Just got my necrons army started need to prime and paint. My favorite model is the overlord second is monolith third is the immortal. Terminator + Egyptian theme + zombies = love

I love Lych Guard with Warscythe. Character killers for sure, just sucks only way to get them deep into enemy territory is diving a Night Scythe in for a turn 2 drop. Also they usually end up dead after wiping out a whole unit, as they get focused down.

Perfect summary of that sweet Necron goodness.

I'm surprised to see the collection didn't have more older figures. I saw older tomb spiders but didn't spot any old Wraiths, for example. Get some legacy models to complete a great collection.

Necrons!!!!! Just bought my first box set after not playing since 4th edition.

I too Love the Lychguard the most. They don't serious work for me in Kill Team. Now that I'm expanding to 40K the sword & Board loadout may be necessary. Getting new model Love helped me chose them as my KT army to grow into 40K. My LGS had setup a GROW League and first matches were intended to start right around COVID lockdown became REAL. I was on the Fence about growing my Eldar KT, Thousand Sons KT, or Necron.

I would like see a battle with all of this and what is the pilones?

Took me a week to paint 12 warriors, 3 destroyers, trayzen the infinite(it was a poor choice for the second thing I ordered from games workshop, it was hard to keep his hand attached and his staff snapped in half😢), and a few other I don't know super well lol. Hopefully I'll have the combat patrol soon toolol

I wonder what your guys total points are now after 9th dropped with the new units. I know I need to rework out my points but it drops between 45k to 50k of crons.

It would me amazing if these armies faced off against each other in an apocalypticon type thing

I think Tau can do well against Necrons, because they have the firepower to focus down one unit at a time :)

It's all great and everything, I just wonder each time why there is more of one thing in a specific loadout than you could every bring in a match o^o Like I doubt you'll be using 10 Night Scythes at once

The funny part is that my dad showed me how to play Warhammer 40K a few months back (im eleven) and i had no clue what they did i just thought they looked easy to paint but still look cool so i asked my dad and now im in love in this game and glad that i chose necrons becuase of reanimtion protocols

I rarely use my monoliths, it's a lot of points for what it is, but when I have used it at tournaments, I put it out front if they are going first. Opponents seem scared of it, so they concentrate fire on it. Then I slaughter them with Warriors, Lych Guard, wraiths. My current 2k point army doesn't have a monolith in it though. Too many points I'd rather fill with warriors and Lychguard.

Seeing that many Necrons legit triggered me. They will always be tainted by the legacy of the Decurion Detachment.

Man, I feel so young...I got into 40 like, six years ago. RIP.

NoUseForAName06 some armies used to belong to separate members plus for narratives they might wabt to use otger coloured armies plus they commission their stuff allot and not everyone uses the same paints

Exactly. There are two tomb worlds represented here that we've used in campaigns. Also, over time different painters have worked on our armies, hence some of the variation in colour schemes.

I actually think the different colors look pretty cool. It gives a more living feel and the sweeping shot just looks wicked with the spectrum of color.

If necrons were accurate to the lore my guy will be ending every faction while not even losing a single scarab.

I absolutely love my Necron army but it is an absolute c**t of a thing to try get Necron models in New Zealand. The only models they sell here are Warriors, Immortals and wraiths. I did however paint all my models in nothing but shades of grey with red for anything that would be lit up (Eyes, gauss flayers etc) which gives them a real terminator feel without the use of any metallic paints.

I want a army with a female leader and the rest robots, any thoughts on how to pull it off?

I'm a year late but thought I'd reply anyway. Although the Necron characters are all male, in the fluff it was their entire civilisation which changed - you could assume they had male/female genders and just convert a necron HQ to be female (headress, change the face and clothing maybe) - standing on the command barge they'd look really good, or maybe on a Destroyer chassis?

Well 8th Edition wasn't too kind to Necron so far. But this can change sooner or later ... so better be as patient as a sleeping tomp world.

I miss the old necron lore. Knowing more about them and having them talk makes them way less scarier than they were before. Like Necron Pariahs. And how as a whole they would march in legions of silence while harvesting races. And how the Doom Scythe made Eldar fighter wings like. "How in the name of Isha are they moving like that?!"

Mostly Just Cyptek's and the Lords can speak I think. Basic Warriors are still mute killing machines.

Basic ones are, but the fact that any talk removes the mystery that made them scary? I beleive Immortals can too they just choose not to it's just Warriors that arn't actually able to. But They've become 40k Tomb Kings, and i much preffered them when we knew nothing other than their name. I'd have thought they'd have kept Paraiah's. Given their a rabidly anti-warp race. Their own Blanks instead of human ones? Is them introducing the Pariah gene in to nacent humans still cannon? I don't think it is, as i think that as the C'tan.

All of those minis that need to be replaced now... RIP.

Maybe give back to the community that gives you so much and donate/give away some of this?

I mean this as positive advice rather than pointless complaint.. Bring the mic closer to your mouth to get a better voice recording and, when editing, check the level of your video against the level of your intro music.

You must hope nothing happens to you as your wife/girlfriend would probably sell them for the price you told her you paid for them ;-)

Like, I want to watch this, but the blurriness when you try to show off the army at the start is kinda hurting my eyes... Maybe you should try taking some nice high resolution photos in different angles instead, then just capture your screen as you digitally zoom in on them and slowly pan from one side to the other, and just switch photos to show different angles and closeups. We've all seen enough nature documentaries to know how it's done. (Heck, you do it yourself at 4:48 and later in the video, just do that all the time!) "live" recordings are so overrated. Real cool collection though.

Fighting a necron player is essentially realizing that You're guaranteed to lose. So why even play? Low point necron games are the only thing I can "win" because I actually have forces capable of focusing squads down. They're literally table-aids.
