Hey mate, its the best sound the first fire up. About 8 years ago I got a hold of a j3 chip off TI perf, for an EF v8 running the EECV. Its in an old FJ 40 toyota and Its been bloody reliable its had a fair beating on club days and in the bush. The only real problem I had was with the mass air flow I didnt realise that running an oiled K&N air filter was putting oil on the contacts. I have to run that MAF to get the motor running, I would think you will need to as well for the AU. I also run the oxy sensors in custom made headers. They may not be the most powerful motors out there but set up right they go for ever. Good luck, Phil

Oh that would be a cool rig with the efi motor in it! Yeah I think it will be running extremely rich without the maf sensor? I don't think I have the stock one, I will have to order another replacement I think. I also have to make custom headers , I will try to Tee in my oxy sensors right where then all come together, maybe 100mm past that point. I think that should work ok hopefully, cheers for the info and comment Phil! 🍻

Hello! Finally a good video of someone doing a 302 EFI swap! Please send me a copy of your excel sheet. I’m currently doing a 93 Jeep YJ 302 H.O. Swap. Engine and powertrain is in. Finally finished up the stand alone efi harness. I didn’t know anything about a J3 chip but I’ll do some research into that. I can’t find any info on doing the final wiring and I’m afraid on just going for it and burning up an ECU. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Terry! Glad you found my channel, I have a very rough copy of my pinout, but remember it's designed for a very basic, manual hot rod.. so no abs, auto box, any car alarms stuff, literally just running the engine and sensors haha, send me an email via my website and I'll reply with the spreadsheet mate

I have a similar 302 in my 92 NC fairlane. Been having a problem with pressure build up, which has caused the sump gasket to blow out and is also blowing oil into the throttle body. PCV is fine , ( located behind intake manifold ) however below it is a mesh filter which appears to be clogged . I poured a tiny bit of fuel in it and it didnt run through. Might be something to look at , and any tips on how to clean it would be helpful. Unlike your rod , its very difficult to even see , let alone access.

Hmm, I haven't checked mine yet, I will when I get back home from work. Have you tried getting a flat head screwdriver and a vaccume and try to clean or loosen up what you can from the top. Then I would try to get carby cleaner and spray into the gauze (will have to flush and change the oil after i would say) Thays alot of pressure to blow the sump gasket, maybe a hole in the piston? You can try to take off the oil fill cap and then start it to see how much blow bye there is? Might give an idea of any damage or issues causing it? Or, take off the rockers or where ever it's located ( I need to check mine) and clean that way ?
