Clio 4 RS / RS Trophy, it's fun as hell, but the biggest downside is no manual for me. I test drove one before I bought my Megane RS, and well, it drives well, it's definitely lightweight, Akrapovic sounds aggressive, but it needs a manual to be honest. EDC is cool, shifts fasts, but it's not what Renaultsport was always about.

Has anybody noticed how his socks match the VW seat pattern and colors? He even dresses to match the car! A true professional!

It treuly does look and sound like a little beast. 250hp is pleanty for day to day use anyway.

I think it's more for Styling purpose than Performance with Maxton, as with every mod part, there is a Styling knock off for the looks. Although I think if you have the time, adding extra Support beams and reinforcing the mounting points could help prevent flyoffs. But that's only speculation on my end

I have a stock polo gti and i reached 262km/h… but yeah it was downhill but still pretty fast

WIsh I would drive the 300hp version as well, only got the 200hp one to test drive, and review. Great vid keep it up!

I notice it even in my car (Leon Cupra, Stage 1, carbon ansaugung HG Motorsport) that I have in warm weather certainly felt 15% - 20% less power. I think in this case it is the same... If you want to keep the performance in warm weather, there is no way around an upgrade intercooler. @Max: I bet, If you drive the car on a cool sunny winter day, you will achieve the times you expected at the beginning.

maaaaaaaaaaan the sound is so good! I used to have a modified exhaust by ASG in Germany. I had V3+, but the police said that "the city doesn't tolerate this" anymore and they took it away. The sound from this car (when you are off throttle) reminds me of the good days. Sad times for me, back on stock exhaust.

I drive this Polo AW GTI, with stage 1 remap daily. Did two different dynos. Both with equal results at 270 hp @ 430 nm, JDengineering and Beek racing. The problem is getting that power to the ground.

I have Ibiza Cupra 1.8 TSi, remap Stage 1 252hp - 14,5sec 100-200

Think it has around 250-260 hp

Its not always maxtons fault they delivered mine with 12 screws and it fits perfect and it helds even with 280kmh

I managed to hit 265 in my 2019 polo GTI, stock aside from a catback 3inch stainless steel custom exhaust. Very keen to get my high flow cat and downpipe then a tune

I’ve got a stock one and I love it. Has it got a stock intercooler? If not then I doubt it has more than 250hp(stage 1). You need a uprated intercooler for stage 2, and then possibly an uprated turbo( only has IS20 standard) for 300hp. Anyhow with only XDS 250hp is plenty enough. Want 300hp? Get a Golf 8 GTI Clubsport.

This is nothing but a stage 2 flash power which is max 250hp

@@pjb9010 yes I agree, a remap alone won't give 100bhp, just watched the video, it doesn't look like 300bhp, more like 250bhp at most. DSG gearbox seems a bit weird as max mentioned, there might be a underlying problem with the car causing performance problems.

Wish we had these in the States.

Hey Max just saying that the software of the dsg gearbox on vw's in general shift up automatically even in manual mode

Its less than 280hp. A Polo GTI with 270hp (just stage 1) has a better 100-200 time than this Polo GTI.

I love the car but my favourite is definitly the Golf GTI mk5 or mk6 MANUAL, definitly manual because then you get a more umph from the boost of the turbo then with automatic

Hmm, my 192 PS Polo V is not even 10 km/h slower and does 100-200 in under 20 seconds. This really doesn't seem to be over 50% more power. Could partially be down to hot weather of course, I tested in March at temperatures way below 20°. But the programming seems pretty defensive, as it shifts quite early for that torque graph. Could go 10-20 km/h faster in second gear before shifting.

i got the 2019, tuned 50% so its on 300 HP with over 400 newton. screw bodykits. power is being put on the road like its normal

My stage 1+ polo with 270hp and 470nm does 13.2 100-200 Drag raced a tesla model 3 long range, we are equal 100-200. drag raced an Audi a6 3,0bitdi performance stage 2 with 430hp we are also equal 100-200. Golf gti tcr pulls away from me with a minimum, just like seeing 2 trucks passing on highway 🤣👍

i drive one and indeed its quicker. mine is stage 1 310hp and 440Nm and goes much faster to 250 than this polo

i doubt that its 300hp. Even my stock polo gti 2020 goes kinda the same, especially 200+kmh... . Last Time i had 259 kmh on my screen on a good day slightly downhill, had to break bc of traffic. Somehow I have the feeling you review guys are in Eco-Mode and simply tip the dsg down for "Sport". Then you are in eco-Sport and this is far away from Sport-Sport Settings hahaha And "its too hot" may be true but 22°C normally is no problem for a polo gti, had this issue at 30°C+ Can one of you stage1-2 Polo GTI guys make a video? Would be so interesting seeing it, and i want to go there too hehe

Sorry. but this is far from 300HP. I drive the stock Polo GTI with 200hp and I manage to get 242-243 on long straights, with 300hp it should be easy to drive 250. A Polo GTI with 300hp should be even faster than a Golf R because of the better aerodynamics, which the presented one is obviously not.

No way this is 299hp, deffo not with stock intercooler. I'd rate this around 240/250hp max. It doesn't seem that much faster then my stock AW GTI

300 crank hp. So, about 260 or so to the tire.

Weird, my 2018 polo GTI was tuned by jdengineering and they got 265hp. Turbo/intercooler seems to be the limiting factor. It's not slow but doesn't feel that fast. Golf GTI feels faster, might be the differential. So 300hp seems a bit high.

Anything south of 450Hp feels pretty slow above 100kph. Nice car if you remember what it is.

Look at the Ibiza Cupra with 363 HP from AutoTopNL. 100-200 faster than the RS6 with 600 HP… You are wrong. My m140i Stage 1 100-200 8,38 sec… and 420 HP even faster than an RS6…

I do like the Polo Gti but my love for the Up gti will never end

299hp and 450nm sounds kinda wrong i agree. I've got a stage 2 .267hp and 493nm and it seems a bit faster then that i top out at 272km/h gps. and 100-200 in 13.2. and just to get to that point I've got an intake system 3" turbo muffler delete and inlet pipe, 3" cattet downpipe and a Wagner intercooler. So i doubt hardly it has 300

My Golf 7 GTI with 304 hp does 275 on the speedo - I do not think this polo has more than 250 hp. It should hit 260 easy but seems to stop at around 248-250.

With 300 hp it should do a 100-200 in about 11.5 seconds.

I mean, the graph says 300 CRANK horsepower. So with 15 about 15% drivetrain loss it would mean the car has about 250 wheel horsepower.

Remove the muffler and make it a straight pipe. I did that with my Up GTI (it`s the same engine).

@@Sideshow_Bob Germany doesn't allow that. And the with the money you'd have to spend on tickets I'd rather do it right the first time and not deal with cops & co.

Realistically, there are very few places in the world where you can legally get to 220km/h+ so it would make very little sense for Maxton to design for that condition and make it prohibitively expensive for everyone else. For you lucky few that can legally do those speeds, the trade off in luck is that you have to pay more for a proper motorsports splitter. A price I would be willing to pay, myself!

Probably yeah. I mean, surely, because i've driven both. Roughly saying, it's about a 1000RPM difference per gear, meaning the next 6MT gear will put the engine in about a 4800-5000RPM zone when going full out, while the DSG will clamp it at 4000RPM, which is quite a big torque difference. Sadly I have no specialist gear for accurate time measurement, but I did my very best to measure my own 100-200kmh attempt (I even accounted for the speedometer inaccuracy and took the avg speedometer-GPS readings to accomodate) and my 100-200 on stock was consistently around the low 17 seconds mark (17.2 on avg). The DSG version stock is doing that in about 21 seconds. Which is quite a significant difference really. Such a difference in fact, that a DSG version needs at least a 240-50ish HP remap to reach these numbers. It really is the DSG that is bogging this car down IMHO. @@petrrieger2680

My Polo with 285hp 490nM runs 100-200 in 12.99 with Perfect conditions measured with a racebox… and Topspeed 270gps.. 283 on dash

This is weird. I bought the new "faceliftet" Polo GTI 2022 model. And i have reached 261 kmh stock 🤔 and it "should" be 207 hp

If it has 300 crank that means it loses quite a bit at the drivetrain. That doesnt speak well for VW's drivetrains, or its fuel economy.

No. The VW DSG is extremely efficient at putting power to the wheels. Powertrain loss is usually only 10-15%. It’s more likely warm weather meant the ECU was dialing back power to about 250 hp.

When the traction control is ON, if the wheels starts to spin, it will try to cut the power, until the car starts to get traction again. When it's OFF there will be nothing cutting the power , so for example for Cars with Turbo , the Turbo will not lose presure and it will not need to spool again. There are many other stuff that limits the car while Traction is ON , but that's an example :)

Might as well get a 2nd hand Golf R....

It's the DSG man, that gearbox is focked. My 2019 6MT Polo GTI does 100-200 in 17 seconds @ stock so yeah, 2 seconds quicker for 100HP more... Yeah something isn't right here.

This engine is the same as the 2.0 TSI 190hp (miller). Its a bad engine for performance to be honest.

@@ThenameisOskar Yes they cant reach 300 bhp with stock castrated version of the golf gtis mark 7 is20 turbo. Get a golf r turbo and youll be fine for 300+. But i dont know if the HPFP does enough power over time. Anyways 250 hp did wheelspin to 80 kph, and its not good in curves anymore because of the xds. Gas: Because 95 ROZ with 250 HP is nice. Why should i use 98 when there was no knocking.
