are there any front recovery points that are good for soft shackles? was looking at mine recently and thinking the same - the edges look a bit sharp

Was always told from a old desert bloke and my self being a bit of a outback trucker lowering tyre pressure can vary between steers and drives and trailer’s due weight on each axle group the basic rule of thumb is have all tyres set with the same foot print Cheers keep the good work bloke love the shows

200 sounded awesome, yes the 300 has the new tech and the good seats but a well sorted 200 is still the KING.

Just got to the end of your video when you said you have high egts and you want a little more power I can help there. Get the front mount like you said you need a snorkel so your no sucking up dirt from your wheel arch into your intake. Block egr top and bottom and do pink wire mod when you do that to not get engine codes and get a dyno tune. Dyno tune can sort out engine codes from egr block too. Also they can turn egr off from ecu. I’d remove intake manifold before dyno and clean first too. Be good to see you on the forums

They are selling (and actually being bought) for 60-80k above drive away prices in Western Australia at the moment. I called about a guy expecting one on delivery. He wanted 50k just to take his order. I’m going to back to a hilux and saving some dollars.

Rule number 1. Low range is for soft sand, doubly so when towing. High range in soft sand is for boiling your auto fluid and destroying the transmission. The TCU will cut torque when the temp is too high to try and save the box.

??..why the hell,,would you have an auto 4x4..plus, the modern sht isnt meant to be 4x4rd..they break,,lots of expensive crap.. the computer says NO. i drive in sand, doing 1000 revs, in 3rd.low,.no probs..10 psi.. 35,s on a 4t truck..with 2 diffs.. the 300 series is a 200 series with another 50k on the price.. bs.. auto is no good down hill, unless you have lock up on all gears..plus, the 1st is usually not low enough.. there only 8 -10 speed auto to get the epa off there backs for fuel economy.. allways rev at max eco / torque.. ill keep my 1962 f100 4x4..FE 352.. MANUAL. 5sp.. rule number 1,,,yes dad...

The 300 vs the 200 is no competition. A well sorted under tuned V8 vs the same engine with 2cyl cut off and a hot v configuration that drinks oil.

In an age if stupid expensive 4WDs Jase owns three of the most expensive (sorry campboss does, hey Jase). 350k chopped 200. 300 GR with a starting price of 160K without mods and 110K Patrol without mods. Funny thing is that cheap by comparison old Hilux was right up there keeping up with the uber expensive rich guy fourbies. Can't see too many 300s getting much dirt but glad to see you've got one and will flog it on the tracks, I'll just keep buying lotto tickets hey.

Wasn't this the exact same beach jas f250 towed that big seajay boat up and back? And this thing struggled with a trailer that would barely weigh 1t 🤔

Patrol flogs both those cars in power and sound. You either turned down the volume on the Patrol or you need to put a Patrol driver in it.... :)

Jase I'm surprised you didn't know you always tow anything in soft sand in Low Range. All your experience I would have thought you'd know that..I picked that tip up from Rocket Rod who owns Whole Sale automatics. Someone you should chat too about adding some transmission mods to your fleet

There is a Sand setting on the GR. We were at Cooloola earlier in the year without deflating tyres because we just wanted to hit the beach and christen the GR, but in sand mode and it handled very well. A decked out 79 got bogged as did a patrol, so I was quite happy to not have any issues.

Only have to look at the newer mine vehicles.several weeks of mud and crap under them and the dash is lit up like Christmas lights..was mentioned preventative maintenance is a big thing and consistency = A pain in the arse.. I have a 22 Lux and I think I’m at the crusp of not buying another one new again.

At the moment your tyres down..prediction your going to be surprised by the Nissan..

Don't like engine sound of the 300 ,, it sounds shit , is that stock exhaust or modified, droning to the ear, much prefer the 200 V8 sound or the Nissan's V8, the earlier 4.2 turbo was awesome too, by either Nissan or Toyota, and both were long hard distance worthy , and quite trouble free

when in sand you need a bigger wheel trailer mate,the non compatible Soft shackles eyes, are not more than 5 minutes work with a grinder Jase.
