A whole lot more room to get the valve cover off than the other Enfield 650s. The oil did its job, nice and black. Also a good choice of oil going in, I use Motul mineral oils when running-in a new engine or new top-end. Enjoy the "Indian Summer" weather, you will notice that the gearbox is silky smooth by about 500 miles now that the good stuff is providing lubrication.

Thanks. You are right about that gearbox. Enfield really hits it out of the park with this 6 speed. The more I ride it the better she works. Wahoo!

Heyup from Steve in UK. Great video short and to the point. I’m running the SM650 and got about 1800 miles on her now great bike rear suspension easing up now much better. Don’t forget the tyre pressures are opposite most bikes.

I had loads of trouble with the rocker cover seal when re-asembling.. in the end i had to fir the seal into the cover itself and try and hold it in place while positioning. Why cant they make a place for it to sit in the cylinder head.. it would make life far easier..

Adjusting the valves on my Triumph 1965 TR-6 are very easy to do. All of today's motorcycles should be hydraulic valve adjustment like my Sportster. All bikes should also have a rear belt drive.

I use Motul oil in my F650 BMW with 22,000miles on it, sure dont come out that color, after 5000 miles still looks golden. What adjustment was needed on the valves?. Still not convinced about quality of build to buy one yet.

All the valves were just a bit tight. Very consistent. I bought my first Enfield, a Himalayan, 2 years and 24.000 miles ago. I've rode it hard and dirty and she's worked very well, no problems. Currently Enfield has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty on new bikes. I intend to test this bike and that warranty by really putting the miles on this Super Meteor. We will see how she does. Wahoo!

Baxter Cycle put the pannier racks and Givi bags on this bike before selling it to me. So far, I like them a lot. Bags are keyed to come off easy. I took them off to make working on the bike easier. Loving it!

I too am still not convinced of their build quality yet. I'm not a big fan of the looks of the engine. Reminds me of a squatted toad. The engine is anemic on power also. 47hp on major American highways to me is not enough. I'm thinking at least 75 - 80 hp? Thanks for sharing. That oil looks way too dark for 300 miles. I would have changed it as soon as I got home from the dealership.
