300 blackout subsonic zeros- tested!
Спорт
Lets take an in depth look at how the 11 yd, 50 yd, & 100 yd zero performs on a subsonic 300BLK out to 150 yds. The goal of this video is to provide real world down range data that shows exactly how each of these zero options can be expected to perform out of your short barrel 300BLK. We test each of these 3 zeros from 25-150 yds in 25yd increments and then provide a detailed review of the results at the end of the video.

He had to pay for his own ammo instead of asking us to go play raid shadow legends for the 200th time like every other guntuber. At the very least he deserves a like and subscribe. Great content, keep it up brother!

I would suffer through an in-video ad if it affords this guntuber to keep producing content.
These battle zero episodes are great! I don’t see that type of useful content very much. You’ve single-handedly made the Mullet cool again!

I agree. These videos are awesome. Very straight forward and easy to understand.
This has been one of the most informative videos on 300 blkout ammo explained in a way that even I can understand
Stumbled on this dude and he's quickly becoming my favorite Guntuber. Straight to the point and explaining it in a direct way AND hitting topics that are Gun Education 2000 level.
This is GOLD for 300BLK shorty users. Thanks!
FANTASTIC video. I use a 10yrd zero on my 6.75" barrel Wilson 300 BO sbr. I am also running an Omega 300 suppressor fulltime, shooting my personal reloads with Berrys 220gr bullets which Chrono at 1050fps through my gun. 4 days ago, I took a wild hog at 155yrds, one shot right behind the shoulder, instant drop. The bottom of my red dot was resting right at the top of its back. And some food for thought for those who use a 300BO for personal defense - As this video proves, this zero shoots up to ~5" high out to about 75 yards. As a retired Cop, we train to shoot "Center Mass". Center mass of a silhouette is actually the BASE of the Sternum. If you measure 5" above your sternum base, well, that is a pretty optimal hit for a one shot stop. Love your videos and hope you keep pushing them out for a long time to come!

That’s an awesome setup man I run a similar one with a DA nomad suppressor with a 1/5 barrel. I also have been using Berrys 220 but have noticed some jacket separation have you noticed the same?

@@southbama No bonding issues at all. Double check your velocity with a good quality Chrono. You can not push a Berrys 220gr over 1000fps with that 1/5 twist. My barrel is a 1/7.

This is great! Really cool to hear you’ve found value in my content! Also you are spot on… the results shown here are directionally correct for all subsonic 300BLK but everyone has their own variables so they should do this kind of test on their own to understand how their specific setup is going to perform out to distance.
85 yard zero with 208 grainers is what I went with ~2 inch maximum point blank range out to 100y. 2 high at 50y, 2 low at 100y.
Still the best practical and educational firearms content on KZread! Keep it up the EXCELLENT work. We appreciate everything you’re doing.
This is exactly the video I needed! Just wrapped up building a 10" 300blk SBR for sub-200 yd use. That 11 yd zero looks like the ticket!

I feel that the 50 yard zero is the most practical. For defense and hunting purposes, I would not want to take subsonic beyond 50 yards and it’s good to see how accurate the zero is at shorter distances. I currently run this on a 7 inch honey badger 1/5 And have the same drop at 100 so I was really surprised with the 2 inch drop at 75 yards which is something I haven’t thought to try and reenforces my thought that 50 yards is the superior zero for subsonic purposes. Thank you so much for doing this video man!!

Interesting video. I'm glad you go back at the end and show the impact in inches. I've shot MOA for years so it means nothing to me when you say "2.5 mils low at 50."
Griffin has great stuff! Their 9mm can QD system is probably the coolest I’ve seen.
I recently retired my MK18. Moved to an MCX 9” LT for CQB. I teach CQB classes as a contractor for the GOVT. I found the 25 yard zero or 75 feet, to be optimal. Holding low edge on center mass for anything below 25 yards and center mass for the rest gets me out to about 150 with about 4” of drop with supersonic ammo suppressed. Double that drop past 125 yards for supressed. Using Sig ammo for all tests. I have ran hand loads that perform better but honestly material costs to build a round have gone up so much it’s easier to buy box ammo.

You consistently make ballistics practical, relevant, easy to understand and interesting, all without a patronizing or overconfident attitude. I absolutely love your videos - especially this one since I love my .300 so much. Thanks for the great work.
This video dropped at the perfect time. I’m loading 220 gr eldx, AA#9. Worked up from 7.6grains at 2.20COAL. All the way to 8.6. Ended up removing a buffer weight from a carbine buffer, standard spring. Pistol length gas 12.5 bcm. Form 1 can. It is so quiet and pleasant there’s no ringing like even when using a nail gun. This video will help me greatly. Thanks!

I run that barrel on my 300blkout and it’s freaky accurate. With 125 SMK’s it will do right at 1 inch groups. Completely insane for a 9 inch. Great vid
I appreciate all the rounds you put down-range instead of just talking theoretically. I recently acquired a 10.5" 300 Blackout and am running it with a suppressor. Good video man. A lot of people don't really think about hold over/unders for zeros on shorter range guns, and it can bite ya if taking a low percentage shot in a risky situation. Great demonstration.
Awesome timing with this video, As I just finished my 8” 300blk sbr build and plan to only run sub’s through it. Looking like a 11 yard zero for me. Thanks a lot!

Another great video. Thank you.
Totally agree with your analysis and comments for battle zero on a red dot type of optic. I think the preferred zero changes with a BDC optic (like the Primary Arms 1-6 ACSS or PA 3x microprism for 300 BLK. Obviously your intent is then different (knowing your holds of the BDC vs just holding center mass with the battle zero). I've had good success with the 50 yard zeros on those two BDC optics. The manual for the 1-6 ACSS indicates a 110 gr supersonic load and a 220 sub can use the same zero at 50 yards. In my experience, its close but not exact. And then you just have to know the holds for supers vs subs to stretch out from there. Fun stuff!
Enjoys the pace of the information through the video. We’ll made.
Great video. Interesting methodology and results. Excellent WY hat. Will consider moving to an 11 yard zero from my 36.
Useful information, thank you for the knowledge.
Exactly what I wanted to see.
Thank you for the review and testing. It was extremely informative. My personal favorite cartridge is 300 BLK. Something I am very familiar with is how 220gr subs drop like a stone when they get past 100 yds. However, I was quite surprised by how much your subs dropped on a 50 yd zero. You have changed how and at what distances I will be doing my zeros with my various 300 BLK guns. I was extremely impressed with how good your groups were with a 9” gun. I just ordered a Sig MCX Spear LT with a 9” barrel. I hope I can shoot it as well as you did for this video. Again, thank you for making this video and sharing the results.
Glad to see Griffin product on the channel. I run their multi-cal Optimus on most of my firearms. For 300 b.o. for my purpose, I ended up with a lpvo zeroed for supers and Griffin's M2 Sights with Angle Kit (45 degree offset folding iron sights) zeroed for subs.
Thank you for this! Very informative!!
Had the same mustache and haircut in 1983! Great video!! Saves me a lot of 300BO ammo.
Very informative thanks ! Never really shot subs but might give it a try now
Great info. Can’t believe I haven’t come across your channel before but I’m subbed now and looking forward to more 👌🏽
New to this channel. Love the content and presentation. Gteat job. Thanks for the useful information. Priceless!

You are starting an excellent series demonstrating actual real world practicalities!! I have an 8.6 Blk Out I'm working on and decided to zero Supersonic (MV 1900-2000/ 185gn) at 100 yds and just compensate for Subsonic (MV 1050-1100/ 225 gn) at closer distances. I'm finding my Subs are landing about 3 mils low from POA at 100 yds-- haven't shot closer yet since I'm trying to see how far I can push the 225 gn cup & core velocities before it disentegrates midair at a 1:3 twist!! Lol! -- Thanks for all your hard work. It is very useful specially that you are demonstrating it!!!
I enjoy your content. Also I'm from Wyoming and like the trucker hat!!
Awesome stuff, guys this data applies to a 1.5” mount only, all of the tall risers out there, 1.75 1.93 2.26 etc will have a significant impact changes as compared to this video. Rock on

Best 300 BLK video on the tube! You got my sub. I’ve been wanting to do this for myself but with supers. Unfortunately I don’t have a can for subs. But I would like to try this out on deer!
Great content. Thank you for all your great videos. I plug in my HOB, BC, velocity into a ballistic calculator to find my maximum point blank range which I set at 2 inches. For my set up it gave me a 26 yard zero. When I change ammo it has to be redone. 300blk ammo is so different from round to round. I have one 300blk zeroed for subs and one zeroed for Supers. Makes it easy lol.
really good visual on exactly how much gas is coming back on a suppressed SBR. thats wild.

I have a Robinson XCR-L Mini with 2 barrels, 7.5" & 9.5" (SBR'd). The 7.5" to max subsonic and 9.5" to max supersonic for my uses. It takes about a minute to change barrels. I am in the process of figuring out my zero's as the upper receiver and therefore the optic does not change. The info in this video is a great starting point. I subbed and liked!
A video on MPBR would be awesome. Pick a max target size and demonstrate how to find the zero that maximizes hits out as far as you can go and stay within 6-8" target. Your videos are such a great introduction to practical ballistics, by a very very good shooter. Thanks!
Seems I have to relearn zeroing every time I go to a new gun but you are making it much easier.
