HR is human resources, right? There's a degree for that where you live? In Germany/Austria it's just a specification in your economics degree. And you don't even really need to study economics to get a job in the HR department of most companies here. I am a psychology student and a lot of my colleagues work at HR or want to go into it. So I'm surprised that there a countries that have a specific degree for that :D

@@wochenente6977 Well it depends. In the Netherlands there are some HR functions you can do with only a high school diploma as well. But for functions like HR advisor/manager/businesspartner you always need a degree. I'm currently studying HRM, which falls under a bachelor of arts. There are however some universities which call it a "bachelor of science". It's kind of in the grey area.

@@ralphbarten2342 I think the situation in Austria is similar, you just worded it a lot better. There definitely are a few jobs in the department that you can do without going to uni, but for higher positions you are required to get at least some sort of degree (not necessarily specifically economics but you have to study something relevant to the department (e.g. psychology like my colleagues)). Geology: "Im very boring at parties" Thats very untrue, people love it when I talk about the Cambrian period. Did you know that in 1777, a fossil of a creature called Hallucigenia was discovered? It was described as a worm that walked on spines and had tentacles on the top of its body. Very odd, but it was accepted as the best interpretation for the creature, hence its name meaning "bizzare and dream-like". Eventually, in 1991 someone interpreted Hallucigenia walked on the tentacle-like appendages and had the spines on top for protection. When asked how he came up with this idea, he simply inverted the specimen. So now everytime I feel like I overlooked an obvious solution to something, I remember that It took scientists almost 15 years to flip a fossil right side up.

Unlike those of us in math and computer science, you use languages that are both regular and not context free at the same time. Regular: the set of words in a spoken language is finite. Not context free: the same word can have drastically different meaning based on tone, environment, relationships, etc. For us this is never possible as a finite automata is automatically a push down automata.

It's true, though. Vets do a lot of day-to-day euthanasia, even though they tend to love animals.
