To be fair! Exploud is actually a decent choice as it’s a fully evolved Pokémon against a baby. It doesn’t matter how much of a type advantage Tyrogue has, it won’t survive a boomburst from an Exploud

N.J.O Productions and if you dont give it enough nectar to feed on, it will turn blue in adolesence, which could have a lasting effect on its ability to breed and pass on its genes. Green nuzleafs have a much bigger chanse of having children.

Those trainer's choice ones are being asked by ash. OBVIOUSLY type advantages don't matter, it only matters which pokemon wants to battle the most, even if it's 4x weak to the opponent.

In regards to that thing about Surf using Lapras as a sprite... My first core series Pokemon game was a pre-owned copy of Diamond I bought from Blockbusters. The save file on the cartridge was full of legendaries and mythicals (that I later ended up deleting without realizing how rare they were), and one of the pokemon in the party was a shiny Kyogre that knew Surf. When I used Surf, I noticed how the surf model looked somewhat like Kyogre and was promptly disappointed when I restarted the game and got Surf again only to find out that the model didn't change based on what Pokemon you used.

Mudkip itself isnt a ground type, and the only ground move it gets is mudslap (unless youre counting if you refuse to evolve it), which is super weak

This is Ash we're taking about, of course he would pick the Pokemon with worst type disadvantage. Why do you think it took him 22 years to finally win a league?
