Dead Space 2’s Hard to the Core is a surprisingly fun trophy, despite its reputation. It’s just playing the game. The enemy difficulty isn’t even set to the most difficult mode, Zealot, though the resources are. If you like the game well enough, it’s definitely doable.

Brutal as hell trophies my god and sadly I have not even a single one of them. I would like to applaud you on such an indepth long form video and all the research it must have taken. Love the cameos by the lads and looking forward to another one.

Both the XCOM games have some ridiculous trophies like beating the game on the hardest difficulty with ironman mode on and speed running it on the hardest. Nice little Adam Jensen figure in the back btw

Great Video VBS, Looking forward to more of this kind of content. It may be more work for you but I do prefer these longer videos so keep up the good work. I just completed the Dead Space 2 Hard to the Core last week for the second time by doing the German Stack having done it originally back in 2011. Was great to do it again and I wish they would do a remaster for the PS5 and keep Hard Core Mode on it. Some great games in your list, I have done a few of them and will look to attempt some of the others after seeing them here.

Uncharted crushing was such an enjoyable experience. Was in no way impossible but was for sure challenging. Brutal on the other hand is not even possible without cheating the game by using cover glitch. And even then it’s a 9/10 difficulty

Not played Trails Rising but i have played Trails of the Blood Dragon. Just completing the game was hard enough! I hear the PS3 version of Shadow of the Colossus is a toughie too,cool vid VBS!

When it comes to frustrating trophies, there's one game that always comes to mind. And that's "The Last Guardian". It's not necessarily grindy, time-consuming, or even all that hard...but it requires you to play the game in a way it isn't really supposed to be played if that makes sense. There is so much RNG or waiting around for stuff to happen and uncertainty on whether or not you failed certain requirements since there are no indicators or trackers. For a lot of trophies, they only pop once you finish the playthrough. So if something went wrong, like missing something or somehow getting progress undone, good luck finding out what that actually was or what caused it. For examples, you have a trophy for taking good care of Trico, the AI companion, for the whole playthrough. What does that actually entail? Who knows? You either get it at the end of your playthrough or you don't. You have a speedrun trophy as well. It's actually quite lenient but when that important AI companion actively doesn't listen to you, you will end up swearing a lot. Unfortunately, that's kind of the norm for Team ICO's games. Even "ICO" and "Shadow of the Colossus" had some similar issues with their trophy lists as well. But "The Last Guardian" easily takes the cake in that it actively hurts how you are supposed to experience the game. And for a game that's all about the experience, that's not good. You can very easily ruin your first playthrough if you're going for the trophies. 0:42 ("Vanquish") Man, I remember banging my head for something like 6 hours to clear that final challenge. I know some people say it's actually pretty easy and can do it repeatedly themselves but like...I'm only just okay at shooters in general. For someone like me, yeah, it required some real effort to get past. I know there's an exploit where you can basically spam infinite grenades but I didn't know it was a thing and I played the PS3 version which I don't think has it anyway. 2:44 ("Dead Space 2") Oh geez, contrary to what I just said, I don't think Hardcore mode is that difficult...but damn is it stressful. When your nerves start getting the better of you, that's when even the simplest of things just get you. I only died something like twice on my run so it's wasn't too bad. Funnily, I actually played "Dead Space Remake" not too long ago and I had an even worse time with its Impossible Mode despite being easier. At least in "2", I had some saves to fall back on. But not having any safety net got me to bumble into the silliest of insta-kills. 4:19 ("Evil Within") I'm half and half when it comes to Akumu Mode. On one hand, yes, it's hard. The game clearly wasn't balanced for that kind of difficulty so some segments end up being outright unfair. But on the other, checkpoints are actually very lenient for the most part. You will die a lot but you'll never be pushed back that far. There are only a few sections that aren't overly generous with checkpoints, though those obviously end up being the hardest sections as a result. But you are still free to trial-and-error your way through them and once you pass one, you don't ever have to look back. It's steady, gradual process. 13:34 ("Persona") I don't care much for "Persona" but as someone who plays a lot of RPGs...I've had to do similar activities in a lot of them. But really, I'm a semi-completionist by nature. A lot of that kind of stuff I tend to do on my own anyway, trophy or no trophy. Heck, in some instances, I've even gone above and beyond what was even required for trophies just cause I wanted to. I once turned an 80-ish hour platinum into a 150+ hour experience just cause there was an in-game checklist to fill out.

Ahhhh Trico, a friend of mine had insane troubles recently, it made him hate the game by the time the Plat popped so I can see that. We all have different skillsets, what some find easy others find hard, GG for getting it 💪 That's why I love survival horror! The stress is a sign of a good one, especially if it makes you make mistakes! Indeed, steady but you'll get it there with a cool head 😅 Hahaha as long as you enjoyed the extra time you put in 😃

Baldur's Gate 3 has consumed my January. Stepping into my first crpg and breaking through the initial learning barrier - i'm so glad I did. In terms of rpgs, there has been a few milestones for me in the last 10 years. Fallout 3>Skyrim>Witcher 3>Elden Ring>Baldur's Gate 3. All beloved games to me. However Baldur's Gate 3 did what the others only created an illusion of, which appealed greatly. Choice. Keeping in mind no game is perfect, considering it as a whole package - I think it's the best game i've ever played. 246 hours in and counting - going for dat plat of course. 😄

I'll be honest, Hardcore Risette may be one of the platinum blockers for me in P4 but I'm more or less playing P4 for the experience.

I've completed yakuza 0 last night and yes the cat fights are annoying I've played 5 rounds and haven't won 1 tournament so i could understand why it would be frustrating if you want the trophy.

One trophy i'm dreading trying to get is Hardcore Risette fan from Persona 4 Golden. You have to listen to 250 of Rise's navigator lines. The worst thing about it is that there is no way ingame to tell so it can be pure RNG hell

Dead space 2 was a 1% stain on my list. Last year I got a ps3 to clean up the online for ac brother hood and rev, Then decided to give dead space a go. Was surprisingly easy to do, & the game was amazing. My childhood self quit for reasons unknown back in the day. Payday 2 mite of been my favorite game of the ps4 generation. I'd of never got the plat if they didn't put the difficulty trophy's to stack in the later update though

I think it was free on plus back in the day, So I probably booted it up and quit quickly to get back to playing cod xd. Metal gear revengeance was the same, that's a 1% on my list as well but I don't even want to try that again. One of my favorite franchise was hitman, And I was told mgs was like them. So when that was free I booted it up and was like wtf is this lol. Still not gone and tried any of the real mgs games because of that horror show @@VaultBoySteve

@@VaultBoySteve Challenge 6 in Vanquish was really bad but I think the Dead Space 2 was the most nerve wrecking cause 1 mistake could set you back hours (and it did in multiple instances 😅) Imagine someone actually paid me $50 just to do challenge 6 for him & even though I had already achieved it in my account it took me almost a week, playing 4-5 hours a day, to do it again on his. I wouldn’t do any of the two again even if they paid me 😂

Very interesting list. I’ll avoid all of them. But not gonna lie: I wish you had made it a two-part project with each 15 trophies. Your narration feels like non-stop, I almost forgot to breath. A bit too much for me. No pauses, and I felt exhaused after 12 minutes. Sometimes, less is more. And I wished, you had put the game on screen, because everything was so fast-paced. But the rest is quality content.

Try Nickelodeon Cart Racers 2. No seriously try to platinum that f*** game. I thought it was going to be a nice casual trophy hunt. I got to the hard mode, which was challenging but still fun. The game surprises you though by unlocking Insane mode...I gave up on the platinum, the RNG is literally insane. So many times ive gotten to the last lap, only a second away from the finish line, then out of nowhere the AI rubberbands and wins the race!. A game that should be 3/10 difficultly for platinum, but it really is 10/10.

Try to beat the twin-stick shooter Nex Machina on Veteran. It's a very good game with really fantastic music! Sack Boy and the String it Together trophy was a big challenge for me And ZombiU. Beat the game on Survivor difficulty. You only have one life

Hail to the king aint impossible, but veeery hard. Took about 20hrs practise and solid muscle memory. Also fuck Knack, awful game overall.
