    Hey everyone. So this video is a bit experimental as it's a much longer form video. Would love to hear from you guys any feedback on it and what I could change or do better next time, or if you would prefer shorter videos. Thanks!

    I really enjoy the long format - one piece of feedback and this may just be me today I have no clue but the POV camera was giving me a bit of nausea haha ... almost wonder if because you're moving around so much/changing direction a slightly faster shutter or higher fps would feel better? just a thought

    I am from Spain, Sevilla, but I usually visit Madrid when I was living in Spain. El rastro was an obligate visit if I was there during the weeekend. You have registered the ambient so well. I love heard the sound and the conversations around your walk. I hope that you enjoyed your days there. :)

    I generally prefer longer videos especially POV’s. But I got tired of looking at people’s back sides. I think there needs to be more of a story including some instruction which you normally do so well. Thanks for sharing.

    Thank you very much for this video! I really enjoyed the pov walk over this fantastic never ending street and flea market. I love that you let us experience the sound and atmosphere of the streets. I think about 30 minutes is perfect for this format. Although it was more like at least 45 minutes for me, because I pressed pause a lot to see what the merchants were offering. For example at 14:05. It breaks my heart to see cameras and lenses thrown onto a pile like this... 😥Two cameras from the 50s, , one or two wide angle lenses from the 60s I think, tele zoom lenses from the 70s (they're not great but a lot of fun) - and on the top right corner a Yashica 200 AF from 1987. Praised at the time as a capable yet affordable entry level autofocus SLR camera. Probably not really a collector's item in that condition, but still nice to see.

    Watched the whole thing. As far as feedback goes I personally really enjoy this POV format. However it might have helped to have some sort of break in the middle, like a coffee shop or something, to let the attention rest for a moment. While it was super cool to experience this market from a photographers perspective, maybe it is just too busy and hectic for a video as long as this for most people. Love what you're doing and that you're trying new things! Also I liked the mirror photographs, but my favourite has to be the old guy with the frames on the wall. Super unique 👍 Thanks for taking us along

    I like the longer format, but I like when you have more voice over and different scenes. I also liked the stats next to each still but I did find myself asking "what mode was he in?". I doubt you were setting your ISO, shutter speed and aperture on each shot (or maybe you were) so it would be informational to know what camera mode you used. For example, you inform the viewer of when you are switching lens, maybe let us know the mode as well, even if the mode is manual.

    Street markets provide wonderful opportunities for photography. The mirror and window reflections are IMHO most interesting. I found this video to be too long. For me, it would be more interesting to shorten it and use clips that describe your thoughts, technique and then show several images from that portion of the shoot - example is the paintings on the wall when you captured the subject between paintings. I also enjoyed seeing images displayed in color and B&W. As always, I enjoy your videos and willingness to share your talent. Thank you.

    Hey, I love your channel, I have learnt so much from it, but I think I start seeing the limitations of street photography, at least this kind of approach. I bought your albums to check if I was missing something, but I don't think I have. What I mean is that as fun as chasing the reflections, the shadows, the texture and so on is, it doesn't realy tell you that much about the place, about the streets of those cities, about the atmosphere. I start to see it more as a flex, as a gimmick, than a tool of seeing, of remembering and photography is that to me. Hope you'd answer this, I am realy curious to hear what you think. Love your work!

  • @FaizalWestcott

    @FaizalWestcott

    3 ай бұрын

    If I’m being honest, your comment here makes me think you’re missing the entire point of what art is. It’s entirely subjective. A photographer photographs how they see the world and this is how I see; what I find to be interesting. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. There’s no “requirement” on a photographer to specifically say anything about a place or to tell a story (however I do think photographing the environment, the light, and texture does say a lot about a place). It’s totally okay if you don’t resonate with my work, but I don’t look at my approach as a gimmick and certainly it’s not supposed to be a “flex” as you put it. I wouldn’t put yourself in a box in terms of what you think photography should be, you can do it personally for your own work, but it doesn’t achieve anything when you place it onto others.

After doing some research I was surprised to find that taking someone’s picture on the street in Spain is illegal without consent. The same for posting. If you really wanted to use this market walk, you need to edit it down to about five minutes. Sorry to be negative, but I hope this feedback is helpful.
