30 Facts You Didn't Know About Better Call Saul

Ойын-сауық

So glad I finally got around to watching in my opinion one of the best spinoffs ever created! Like I say in the video I hope Gilligan considers doing another spinoff after he's done a couple other things, but if not then I'm more than okay with how Better Call Saul wrapped things up.
Make sure to leave a like and sub, have a great day everyone!

I keep telling them, “It’s basically Breaking Bad part negative 1” but the main character is our beloved Jimmy McGill AKA Saul Goodman 😁 come on it’s set in the BrBa universe with most of the characters from BrBa minus Walt and his family. Saul didn't have the intensity or pure adrenaline rush that Breaking Bad had from the get go. What made BB so insane was it's unpredictability. With BCS we knew the demise or survival of certain characters. So when Tuco had Jimmy in the desert in episode 2? There was no real intensity as to what was going to happen. However, we didn't know what was going to happen to Chuck, Howard, Lalo, Nacho or Kim as they didn't appear in BB. So once we got to the final season, that was the same intensity that BB provided. For this reason, I think BCS is actually better written than BB. Gould & Gilligan had go out of their way to create a story that would make sense, fit & not ruin continuity. To my knowledge, the only thing that is different is the age of Kaley Ermantraut from BB to Saul. Which I got over pretty quickly. But it was great to find out how Hector got in the wheelchair. Just a magnificent 12 seasons of tv (and El Camino getting thrown in too).

One time-period-specific detail they got wrong: Nacho's fake Manitoba IDs were the blue, plastic, one-piece type of license that was rolled out in 2006/2007. In the time that the show was set, Manitoba had green two-piece licenses, comprising a paper certificate and a laminated photo ID. Nacho's fakes also use an image of a bull rather than a bison, and the font used for "Manitoba" isn't quite accurate, though these changes may have been intentional so they didn't look real enough to be used for nefarious purposes.

Great job, The Why! Particularly love that you gave props to Rex Lynn. He was so good. Like... perfect. He was so good that he made scenes better that he wasn't even in. The classic hilarious scene where Jimmy wants Kim to tell him about her meeting w/ Kevin: "Well, you never told me that he was a side sitter. And that is gold." "Do he talk like this?" Those lines are fuckin' hilarious because, of course, Odenkirk. But in this case, they come off as perfect as they do because we're picturing/hearing Lynn as much as listening/watching Jimmy describe/mock him. Lynn laid the groundwork there; for me, he's actually in that scene. Seriously incredible. Better Call Saul is the greatest work ever produced for television. Endless love and respect for all things BCS.

Although I watched it to the end, and enjoyed it, I felt like the hatred that Jimmy had for Howard was forced. Jimmy had broken him already. It wasn't in his nature to be that cruel. You could say that Kim enticed him into it, but she had also previously beaten Howard by blazing her own trail of success. She even got to pay him back for the college loan, and he kindly refused, mentioning that it was a gift.

Well, I guess it's true what they say - you can't spell "Saul Goodman" without "all good man!" But seriously, I learned so much from that video, it was like getting a crash course in Albuquerque law. Now if only I could find a way to bill my time spent watching it... Warning: Our movie quizzes are so addictive, you might end up binge-watching them all night instead of actually watching movies

I would love to see a spin-off of a young Mike Ehrmantraut as a rookie cop but still played by Jonathan banks.

Problem is that because it moves so slow, which was great the first time I watched it, it is not rewatchable. I mean like I still had to watch it twice to catch everything, but Breaking Bad I think I am on my 10th time through it. I did have to put a couple years between the last time I watched it and now, but it is much more rewatchable.

Watching this series after breaking bad was fun because you see these new characters and wonder if they are still alive or not and what happened to them, Howard and Kim being the main ones always wondered where was Howard during BB … boy did I get a surprise. He was in the lab the entire time

the writers changed his name from KEITH to GENE... also Jimmy/Saul did not choose the name Gene, that is the name the Ed Galbraith gave him when he gave him his new identity, although we don't know whether or not Ed let him choose his new name - he already knew he was going to Omaha and to work at Cinnabon when he talked to Walter in the basement of the vacuum cleaner store so we can assume he already also knew his new identity and was practicing remembering it.... one plot hole with that (or maybe another reference to him wanting to get caught) is Jimmy/Saul telling Walter his new identity - or maybe he wanted Walter to be able to find him if he needed help in the future

I don't think either is better than the other. To me, it feels like a disservice to one or the other. I do like each because of what story they told, how they represented one another, and why I watch TV to begin with. I'm glad I got to see them both (and El Camino), and was thrilled, entertained, and enjoyed every minute of it.

In Namaste, S5E4, at 22:30 Saul’s arguing in court. He looks at Kim. They make eye contact and he nods. Then at about 22:35 he exhales and says, “Yeah, so,” and then continues with his examination. Call me crazy, but it sounds like they dubbed in Kim for those two words.

How did they have so much attention to detail with the BankAmericard and MasterCharge logos on a door from the abandoned store, but managed to have 2010s cars in every other shot that took place on a street for a scene that is supposed to take place in the early-2000s?
