3 Yoga Breathing Exercises for Anxiety | Caren Baginski
3 Yoga Breathing Exercises for Anxiety // These yoga breathing techniques (also known as pranayama techniques, which refers to "breath control" in Sanskrit) will calm your nervous system, bring mental clarity and balance your energy. Use them to reduce anxiety and stress when it happens, or as prevention by practicing one or more of these yoga breathing exercises daily. These deep breathing techniques will help you relax and calm your mind.
The three simple breathing exercises are:
1. Elongate Your Exhales
2. Kapalabhati or Skull Shining Breath
3. Nadi Shodhana or Alternate Nostril Breathing
I created this video a long time ago. Since then, I've learned much more about anxiety and breath as I continue my yoga studies. Check out these videos for even more practices to help you reduce stress and anxiety:

@@periclesdasilva5973 Hahaha your jesus is really a funny god. Watching him and his disciples exhibit their daily comic theatrics often dissolves my stress / tension whatever I face in my daily life. jesus is as funny as jim carrey, charlie chaplin or any other famous comedy legend.

with any abnormal experience, it is always wise to make sure you are up to date on your medical check ups. Nightmares can just be nightmares, but they can also be related to medical problems. Bad digestion, blood sugar issues, blood pressure issues. Always best to check up and make sure there are no underlying medical conditions.

+Edvin Löf I also have it right before I go to sleep. I don't really mouth breathe as much during the day so I think I get short of breath falling asleep because I'm trying to still breathe out of my nose which is harder for me while laying down. I saw a nose throat and ear doctor who said my nasal folds (think that's what they are called they're in the back of your nose) are large which makes it difficult for me to breathe out of my nose. I also have bad allergies. I would see a nose throat and ear specialist they can tell you what's going on. I know it's scary feeling like you aren't getting good breaths. I still get anxiety over it at times.

Hey Caren, really glad I found your video. I've had anxiety for the past 4 years. Managed to overcome it within the mind however I've noticed my breathing is still extremely shallow and pretty much every night I'll wake up from a panic attack. This video really helped me work on my physical side of my health :)

Thank you :) I watched quite a few "breathing" videos to find one to save for when I am feeling stressed and I finally found one I really like! I am trying to turn to breathing /meditation instead of eating when I feel stressed so I am hoping that turning to your video instead of reaching for food will help. Thanks again for sharing. :)
I just did this and I instantly felt better. My head sometimes feels droopy and heavy, but it feels as light as a balloon right now!
Thanks so much for this. I will be following your other videos.Just learned how to breathe properly for health last month. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! I’m going to add this video to my group therapy program for adolescents with anxiety. Wonderful video!
After going back and forth from the doctors and being told i was physically fine, it turned out I was having panic attacks and anxiety stress instead. So I looked up some breathing techniques and found your video. After I had tried this the tightness in my chest start to lessen within minutes and I was able to stop fixating on my symptoms which has made me feel so much better. Thank you
