This video shares 3 easy ways to use hydrosols: as a DIY sunburn spray, a face toner and mixed in with unscented lotion!

SUNBURN SPRAY RECIPE
- 45mL aloe vera gel
- 30mL lavender hydrosol (www.okanaganlavender.com/coll...)
- 30mL rose hydrosol (www.okanaganlavender.com/coll...)
- 30 drops lavender essential oil (www.okanaganlavender.com/coll...)
- 5 drops spearmint essential oil
Combine all ingredients into a small beaker, mixing well after each addition. Pour into a spray bottle and shake well to combine the ingredients. Keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks, and shake before every application.

Do we need to add preservatives in third technique where you added hydrosol in lotion? Shelf life of hydrosol?

I don't ever add preservatives, I just mix up small batches that I use within a month. Proper storage, really impacts the shelf life of a hydrosol, keep them away from temperature fluctuations. When they go off they often get a little 'bloom'

bloom in them, a bit like algae. Usually about 1-2 years shelf life.

@@okanaganlavenderherbfarm1994 how long does this product last w/o preservatives? Also if I make my own lotion w/ hydrosol instead of water do I need two preservatives?

@@kenycewescott1295 I just mix up small batches, I have not had any problems with them going off.
