I’m a bit late to this party….but, I became aware of aloe vera apx 3 months ago. I can’t seem to find any actual, leaves like in this video, but I have been able to get full leaf filtered aloe vera (Whole Foods and Amazon). I spray it (liberally!) on my scalp and hair BEFORE applying leave-in conditioner but AFTER my weekly deep conditioning (so I never rinse it out!). I put a plastic cap on and let my hair absorb it for about 15 min and then I apply leave-in. My scalp and strands feel so good all week long! Glad to see this video….Confirms I’m on the right track!!!

I allow mine to sit in water 24-36 hours to get all the irritants out. The water's really yellow when I take it out and wash the outside. I create an aloe and fenugreek prepoo that's really grown my hair and helps with length retention. I throw the whole leaf into the blender, and get every bit of the nutrients from the inside and outside of the plant. I also use aloe vera powder for my aloe vera oil. I just add it to whatever oils I want to use and let it sit in my window sill for about 2 months. I shake it every few days to help the process. It's really dark green when I'm done and it's worked 1000% better than making it with fresh aloe on the stove. I definitely can tell the difference in how my hair reacts to it compared to the oil on the stove. I keep some infusing and by the time I need more, it's ready.

Thanks for the tip. Do you use the blended gel with fenugreek powder or seeds ? How is it used afterwards? Can it be used on a six year old ? I’m dealing with alot of dryness on m’y daughters hair.

@@dame8965 you’re welcome. I use it with both. But with the seeds I soak them in boiling hot water for 24 hrs before I make the prepoo. I use 3 tablespoons of seeds, and 16 oz of water. I add it to the blender after soaking 24 hrs (seeds and water) then I add the aloe vera (1 large leaf). Blend until as smooth as possible. Then strain with a nut milk bag to remove the grit from the seeds and the bits of leaf that doesn’t blend. Then add whatever oils your hair likes for a total of an oz, and MSM powder (6 scoops). I apply it to damp hair the night before I wash it and sleep in it covered with a plastic bag and bonnet, or an hour before with heat from a hooded dryer. Rinse well then wash hair as normal. It’s great for dryness. And if you really want to help dryness, get a hair steamer and use it with your deep conditioner every wash day. Deep conditioning will help so much. It’s made a huge difference in my hair for sure. And it’s definitely safe for a child.

Aloe vera gel has really helped soften and grow my hair and I found an easy way to get the juice off without a blender or the mixing or the lamps, and I made a short how to video on my channel. I can be inconsistent, so making my hair routine easy is really important to me. This was really helpful too.

Thank you for this video. Great tips. I’m struggling with DRY HAY LIKE HAIR FOR MY 6 six year old. Can I use all three methods or would that be an overkill ? If I use it as a leave in , should I simply seal with a pomade or butter afterwards as I hear oils should be used on scalp not hair because oils dries hair. Too much info out here. Thanks.

Is aloe good to use on protein sensitive low porosity hair. Im suffering from dryness, breakage and change of texture after a henna treatment several months ago. Olive oil is wayyy too heavy for my fine hair. A lighter oil like Apricot oil or safflower oil is better for me. I love the aloe vera addition to my hair journey.
