3 ON 3 There are two major differences one played long way and cross-ice. the cross-ice is broken down even further if you have a sheet that’s Olympic size. The “Pro” rink cross-ice is almost ridiculous because even the goalie can score. I’m active and can handle the puck better than average so I’m like a 4th player. Fatigue is a big factor for us. If you can choose, play with experienced players, I find the younger players want to go fast, but don’t change when they should and they think the other team is an easy mark because the other team just played. Water? You don’t have time to blink much less drink water. I do love the challenge of 3 on 3 tournaments. I’m really impressed when a team gets a shutout!

Great question Edmond. I've never tried 3v3 before, but from watching TurboTendy on KZread, it looks exhausting. It also looks like a ton of fun!

@@JackMuren It is fun and exhausting but getting a lot of shots is fun but giving up 8-10 goals can sometimes be disappointing.

@@EdmondRostand yeah, I bet. Still, in that format, it's expected to be high scoring.

I play high intermediate on Sundays and low novice for Tuesdays and I feel like I play a lot better for the intermediate team than the novice. Pucks are shot hard enough that they pop into my glove closing it, passes are predictable across the ice so I can anticipate my slide better, and my defenseman clear my rebounds. I see none of that in novice and have to adjust accordingly. Pucks, if they do get elevated are off speed knucklers where I'm good for one fanning of the glove goal a game, my teammates immediately play hot potato with the puck when they get a pass and turnover (I guess I'm becoming an expert at predicting turnovers and adjusting for that), and I've had the worst goals deflected in by skates and sticks because their awareness wasn't there. Still fun but kinda frustrating. Here's a topic (not sure if you covered it) how do you approach your team before the game, between periods, and after games to offer what you see on the ice and ways to improve when? I notice with a lot of beer leaguers who never played organized growing up they don't like the critiques. I get a lot of "I know's" and then a lot of "not do's". Anywho, love the channel!

Very similar experience. The Change up was the pitch I used to strikeout more batters than anything else, (but you have to have other pitches) so, slow 30 mph shots are harder to save and control than 80-90 mph shots. I’ve had a puck go off my stick and pop up, hit me in the back and go in (had that same shot been 70mph it would have been in the netting over the glass). At least 1 goal off my defense a game [that should be a stat] [other stats: Goals Against After Turnover To The Slot, Goals Against After Defense Leaves The Guy They Are Covering Wide Open In The Crease, Goals Against After 3 Guys Are Behind The Defense That Can’t Skate, and my personal favorite; Goals Against From A Scramble That The Defense Pushed In]. Joe you’ll like this one; I drew a diagram on how I want the “3 minute pregame warm up” shots and asked this one guy to follow it, so he tells me how he’s going to do it. I also found out, don’t poke check, these people are so slow they get the puck back and shoot on an empty net. The fast guys get poke checked and they can’t get back to the puck.
