She’s an awesome teacher/instructor.
There are so many amazing forms of guard and i love them all, but i also enjoy a lot of the old school closed guard set up! Still effective to this day when done right!!!
Great video. I really like the collaboration with Erin. She's very knowledgeable and does a great job explaining the techniques.
Shane i have been following you since 2016 and your tips helped me a lot to overcome fear and to be strong and confident, now i still idolize you and i hope that i could help inspire other people like how i am inspired by you. thanks for making such helpful and wonderful videos.
I love this channel! Thank you so much for all you guys (and ladies) do! ❤️

Love the videos! Could you cover submissions from mount? Thanks!
Also Shane, thanks for getting dominated by a black belt for us other white belts 😂
I figured I'd mention it because you mentioned grabbing the lapel and the pants from de la riva there's also a lot of things you can do with the belt from de la riva and reverse de la riva
I see BJJ black belt I click video. Watch all the other ones too but love these
I like to see more types of submission from these guards saludos desde México

She showed so much more personallity in this video! She is really easy to like that way
Can you post a video on double cross and switching hand position when fighting
Sir are you training at Gracie University?
When she shows the x guard sweep it’s better to keep the toes facing to the floor whilst his leg is on your shoulder then you can kick out the leg or get the back
The main problem I saw in BJJ is breath control (it's exhausting). Do you have some tips about it ?
Is Shane a bodyguard? He could definitely pass for one with all that he knows!
Are these guards effective for MMA/Self defense? Would any modifications be needed or is it best to avoid these ones altogether outside of a BJJ competition setting? Id love to hear y'alls thoughts!!!!
Why does the notification say OPEN GAURD erin

If you like to strike just learn to sprawl
@abrahamlincoln8542
5 жыл бұрын
@@josephcastellanos8859 It's not that simple, sprawling is too basic to work on elite grapplers. The only way to last as a striker in MMA is to have solid defense on the ground or takedown defense. In short, you need to know how to grapple in MMA, you have to, there's no working around it. Jiu-jitsu and wrestling are vitally important to your success as a mixed martial artist. Being well rounded is the name of the game.

It seems like it wouldn't be great for self defense unless you sweep them immediately, but seems great for BJJ .
She’s so cool. Submit the stigma !
Is it possible to use spider guard no-gi (effectively?) I've tried using it a few times by just grabbing the wrist, but it usually just slips out. Does anyone have any good tips for keeping the grips no-gi or is it just better to go for other guards and save the spider for gi?

Hi
Happy Erin :-) :-)

Why are you a white belt?
People say you can rain down punches on the X-Guard. Really? Looks like the ground and pound sucks from there, and you'd get swept by anyone competent. IMO. Maybe the reason it's rare in MMA is just because of pants?
I have a question about that laugh, it"s a haha and the stops completely, kinda like Elon musk"s laugh when he did the meme review and joe"s pod cast, an I the only one freaked out by that?

When are they gonna demand you turn that belt in for the next rank? 😁

Lol well I'm sure she understands this isn't a self defense position. Although it'd be fun to make a theoretical video on which gi guards could be good for self defense.
Deliberately pulling guard and butt scootin' is kinda pathetic though

Quite the opposite,the guard was reserved when you would get taken down,that way you could defend yourself and work towards your own submission,but people can get away with it because of the rules in sport based BJJ where most of the time people have awful stand up,going to their backs on purpose
@Tuldoka

@@bertosantos9108 last time I rolled, they would do it knowing I used to do Judo. It made it easier to pass guard. But some would try to spider guard
