  • @abrahamlincoln8542

    @abrahamlincoln8542

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@josephcastellanos8859 It's not that simple, sprawling is too basic to work on elite grapplers. The only way to last as a striker in MMA is to have solid defense on the ground or takedown defense. In short, you need to know how to grapple in MMA, you have to, there's no working around it. Jiu-jitsu and wrestling are vitally important to your success as a mixed martial artist. Being well rounded is the name of the game.

    Is it possible to use spider guard no-gi (effectively?) I've tried using it a few times by just grabbing the wrist, but it usually just slips out. Does anyone have any good tips for keeping the grips no-gi or is it just better to go for other guards and save the spider for gi?

    Quite the opposite,the guard was reserved when you would get taken down,that way you could defend yourself and work towards your own submission,but people can get away with it because of the rules in sport based BJJ where most of the time people have awful stand up,going to their backs on purpose
