This is very neat ! Do you ever have nightmares where YOU are the marble and the copper never ends ?
I certainly thought the speed was "wasted" - that is, until I saw that they went in a loop! Very cool! I like that each pathway for the marbles has its own identity in a sense
That's pretty cool. Although the second set of marbles was short. the first set of marbles were my favorite because it had a lifelike gesture to it. Very impressive and fun. Please make more videos like this.
3rd run was the best!
Great work! I really love David Morrell's sculptures too.
@swirlingbrain I am very sorry to hear about that - I wish you and the daughter the best! (From a huge fan!) P.s. absolutely did not take that the wrong way, life happens and I am glad your priorities are in the right place!
wow that is really awesome & relaxing, I want one bad! You are very talented!
I'd love to sit around making stuff like this - would be so consuming :)
the sickest coaster ever.
future of rollercoasters
bravo, that is some franklin institute material right there.
Awesome I wish my marble run was that cool
You always hear about robbers stealing copper tubing and whatnot, and I bet this is what they use it for xD
Effin' cool. I liked the one on the left the best.
@velciance My apologies. My oldest daughter has CF. She has been been in and out of the hospital. After Thanksgiving she got very sick and was placed in the hospital. We spent Christmas in the hospital but we made the best of it by having the family come and opening presents there. She was let out before the New year but she was placed on 3 different home ivs via two picc lines. Currently she is on tobi (aerosol antibiotic). Believe me when I say, I'd rather be making RBSs.
The virginity is strong on this one.
@jenjudas I use 8 gauge solid copper ground wire. It's soft enough that I can bend it with my hands.
Bests to your family. May your work help you to find you strenght. Bests
I love this! Great work!
love the one on the left, it spins fast :)
@imyourhustler Yes, it receives up wi-fi and wi-max internet signals but the display and associated input and output electronics are not provided. If you connect a crystal-type radio, or sometimes if you have a loose metallic tooth filling you can receive AM and FM radio too. The signals are harmlessly redirected to ground by default. During the time I had this sculpture in my house, I had no elephant or giraffe infestations, your mileage may vary.
Beautiful! :D Awesome work, man!
@TAPriceCTR I don't find stainless steel or steel to be the much cheaper way to go. With either steel, you have to have jigs and bending equipment, and welding equipment. Steel is hard to locate and buy. You have to do it outside (I do it inside). Steel is hard to bend so you're limited to lots of straight track. Copper you can have beautiful flowing curves and easier construction. Steel takes longer to build. Sure there may be advantages but I don't think material price is any real advantage.
I like the last one the best!
Nice demonstration of conservation of angular momentum.
I really like the swirling effect
@KevinKilla5555 Naw, a magnetic containment field. It was powered by fusion for a nanosecond until one side of it vaporized! But just one side of it. ;-)
Honestly Amazing!!!
@juangodfrid Many thanks for your interest! I rarely take commission work any more. However, I do sell sculptures like this one on the video occasionally on ebay and of course I'd be happy to sell to my friends in Argentina. Hopefully, I should have some more sculptures like this listed on ebay soon. Many thanks again!
i'm surprised that they roll so well. i was sure that the curves would not have been made smooth enough.
yes, I have been making RBSs for many years. I have some instructional videos on how to make Ccopper RBSs. You can find the link in the description to this video or on my youtube channel. Thanks.
talented, man!
This should be a rollercoaster
@JapanBreakfast Yep, it was originally gold but then I liked it so much I had it copper plated. ;-)
the third track is the best ^^
BEST VIDEO EVER!!!!
@MrMister19801 A rolling ball sculpture of this size can take a week or two to build if I stick with it.
@KevinKilla5555 For a mobious strip, any supports would get in the way of the marbles!
I really like these kinds of marble runs. A question. How do you solder the copper-wires so the are reinforced? Glue or what do you use?

You can see how I construct these by watching the How To Make A Copper Rolling Ball Sculpture Video. You can find the link to that video in the description. The sculptures are soldered and soldered joints are very strong as you may see by watching the vid I mentioned and seeing the strength test.

Voted "like" of course
so this is what people did for fun before computer games and sitcom television shows was invented.. fascinating!
what advantage does expensive copper have over much cheaper steel? if friction coefficient you do not seem to be pushing the kinetic energy to hte limit, it all seems down hill the entire way.
Nice man, keep rolling
thats friggin awesome
That is Amazing!!
I love it! Is this something you've been practicing for a while? I'd definitely like to learn
thanks for sharing , marvelous work of skill.
thats freaking nice
you got to love gravity
All at once! All at once!
How did you make this? Where did you get the wire. This is like the toys they use to have in the doctor office. Really really cool. The heck are these and where do you buy them?
Thanks. If I keep with it, it takes a few days to about a week.
Pretty cool, only complaint would be how short the other two are.
Pretty badass
LOVE IT!

I could do that all day!!! =3
That was so cool
That was so cool
I wonder what the speed is at that vertical coil.
@swirlingbrain did you put a supporting track around it?
the last one looks cool
I wanted to see all three batches going at once.
@velciance By the way, please don't take that wrong. I've very grateful that you are interested and keep watching for new sculptures. Many thanks. I'm sorry that I haven't been able to make any lately.
@Thebuddyboy262626 I make these and auction them sometimes on ebay. They generally sell from $50 to $1000. I don't remember how much this one sold for.
Looks Great. I can't tell if you have any solder joints in the vid. What type/size wire do you use?? Thanks.
now this is epic
really cool nice job
@swirlingbrain I copper plate all my gold too LOL good one!
Amazing! Thanks for the video!
Wow, they really zip around that spiral part O_O
@Elzandor I make these and sometimes sell these on ebay or etsy.
Sound like a roller coaster
Amazing!
so howlong did it take you to setup this just the backround
have you ever tried using a mobious strip disign?
haha I love it when people defend their subjective opinions as objective truths. :p just realize that some people appreciate engineering that makes the human interaction unnecessary or obsolete, and some people have a greater love for the juxtoposition of biology and technology with a little bit of physics just to make it spicy... haha
pretty cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is fast!
very nice!
Cool I'd love to play with this
take that, roller coaster tycoon
@XWingRepair4cheap I use 8 gauge solid copper wire. You can see a how-to video of how I make them. See the description on this video for a link to the how-to make an rbs video.
WHAT TYPE OF COPPER WIRE DID YOU USE??? WHAT TOOL DID YOU USE TO BEND THE COPPER?
Were did you get the rainbow marble from go to the end and you'll find out that marble I'm talking about

They care called "Cat's eye" marbles and are fairly common. You can get just about any type of marble at moonmarble.com
so much win I want to make one of those
Was soll daran wieder schlecht sein? Super Arbeit!
You can go to thingiverse and look for swirlingbrain. Or go to shapeways and look for swirlingbrain. Also, you can look through my channel to see video of some of the 3d printed sculptures I've made. I have a few 3d printable sculptures on those sites.
impressive
if only this were a real coaster
@swirlingbrain maybe you should put supporting tracks on it. :^)
@KevinKilla5555 Yes but the marbles kept coming off the track.
amazing!
Fantastic!
sim, eu fiz isso!
And the red one is at the end
AWESOME SAUCE!
Me: this guys youtube name is swirlingbrain hmm, "bleep annoying mode activated" you mom is a swirling brain!
