Get a oscillating muli-tool with a scraper blade for the foam removal . Use it like your giving the foam a haircut. The scraper blade will not cut into wood and the foam just falls off.

Hi there your excitement when your beautiful boat turned up , was intoxicating well done on getting her this far , it probably will seem a hard slog getting the insides fitted out but you seem determined so iam sure you will get her done , at the moment my friend and I are converting a van each into a camper but while we are both handy , each stage takes longer than you think but your a lot younger so you might smash it , good luck with her if she is a she , never sure these days .

that's hell of a way to drive a boat..!..

The music sucked, but I was holding my breath while the boat was hosted into the water. It's a nice boat, and I do love the paint job.

You need to mount a waterproof tv monitor , on the back of your boat ! and a video camera on the front , that can relay video so you can navigate with ease 👍👍👍

Electric meat carving knife will be way faster for the foam. You can get battery powered versions.

Shawn Rhymes here. Again I enjoyed the video. I feel that the bow thrusters were an excellent idea, but I'm not impressed with the flat bottom. The space where the bricks are for ballast could have been used for batteries or water storage. That being said. Thanks for the video and do you appreciate comments?

@@TheMicroTrak what's wrong with using batteries for at least part of the ballast where they can be easily reached for replacement. Concerning flat bottom boats, I don't think they are a very good idea. I'm a firm believer in utilizing space and having things serve more than 1 purpose. It's something to seriously consider.

@@shawnrhyme5831 Nothing is wrong with using batteries for ballast...unless that space is a watery bilge. As far as flat bottom boats, in 4 foot deep canals with no tides or waves, a flat bottom is a big advantage over a displacement hull with a deep V profile.

Is this brand new or a restoration? Never seen a longboat with that nice a finish.

Use a flexible bread knife to remove foam

If you don't mind my asking what did the bare boat cost to have built?

Tape your beams ect before spraying just peel it off bit late now lol

Why, in gods name, didn’t the spray foam guy protect the beams when putting it on?

Why would you "chip away" at the foam when acetone would easily dissolve it away with little mess?

a tiller in the center seems not practical. For something that long in tight quarters, why not have dual wheels like a lot of sailboats?

wow,anyone could see ,there was gonna be a big problem ,that the truck didnt back in, ,multi-lifting anything ,than doesnt have to be ,is about as smart as a screendoor on a submarine,,,very happy for you guys ,that all you had to do ,worked out ,in the future ,,especially navigating on water ,something that long ,,,give it a little thought, there may not be a crane there to help ,beautiful boat, or ugh,home ,!! good luck!

I’ve never seen a happy wide beam user when travelling ,always seem stressed on the canals and make it difficult for themselves and other users.unless of course your not going to move, or spend your time on a river. Hopefully you have based your decision on experience.

Question..... WHO DID YOU PAY TO PUT IN THE FOAM....... How do they get away with that $HIT JOB..... after they put it in and it dried they should have cut it down to the studs and all the over spray..... that is a crap job...... 2nd You should be cutting it off not use a hammer...... I cut down foam off of framed walls all day..... You can cut the foam in a 2,000 sqf house off every frame in less then 2 hours..... that boat took you how long.....???? and it is still done wrong.....

Lose the rubbish music otherwise interesting, attach a swivelling rod to steering arm like some sailing boats have, allow you to reach the controls , quick fix until you figure something else.
