    Beginner 54 yrs young sewer. Thanks so much for the paper idea. All my lines on every fabric looks like a child sewed it! Practiced this and changed colors to get used to threading machine. To have a line to follow is incredibly helpful to me. I dunno, hooked on phonics style perhaps, but it works for me 😃 Many thanks

    And, I'm almost 54 years young, too. I've sewed before, but, it's been such a long time that I might as well be called a beginner, too. 😉 I hope you will have many days of wonderful crafting and sewing. I'm a crafty person as I love all sorts of crafts but am a master of none. 🥰

    Love it, easy to follow instruction and clear explanation, really appreciate it as I'm totally new to sewing and everything seems so daunting to do but you make it so easy!

    I love confirmation of approach, it's especially helpful in videos. I was pivoting on curves, but wasn't sure if that was an acceptable method and so I felt like I was not doing it correctly. Your tips are so helpful and absolutely needed - "Thank you, Paige"!

    watching you is better than a sewing class. Thank you so much for your tips, and half circle skirt, as soon as I finish my backpack that's what I'm going to make next. I wonder if you will be doing a video about reading patterns? I get pretty overwhelmed with them. I have been sewing "by eye" for a while and have enjoyed the skirts and things I've made but I'd like to learn the right way things are done. lol

    You could use this technique to create fancy square fabric pieces that can be part of a large blanket or quilt.

    Thanks Does sewing in the paper ruins the sewing machine needle?

  • @PaigeHandmade

    @PaigeHandmade

    3 жыл бұрын

    It may dull the needle quicker than normal sewing but it won't hurt the machine. Use regular printing paper so it isn't too thick. Sewing machine needles should be changed every few projects if they are big, so you could use an older needle if you want to.

    I can't add it to the video, but I can write it here. It's a Brother computerized sewing machine. SQ9185. There are newer models out now.

    You would be moving the object being sewn. The needle doesn't change.
