Glad you mentioned the eyes on the target. Invariably I notice my casts on target are the ones where I’m on target with my eyes. You’re triggering the hand eye coordination.

Great video Steve! So basic yet so very important! I find myself so focused on where I’m going to cast that my mechanics go out the window resulting in sloppy cast and I’m sure, less fish! Thanks for the reminder!

Going with a shorter rod helps me big time, you would be amazed what accuracy you can get with like a 6-10 as compared to a 7-6.

In friendliness ... Casting and reeling with the same hand/arm seems inefficient and non-ergonomic. Reel with weak, cast and fight with the strong. Why not use L-handed reels Steve? Ambidextrous? I'm not. But still ... Switching rod between hands hundreds of times ... that's just seems evil amigo. 😆 Reeling with your L can't be 'very hard' to learn/get used to. Btw, you're not alone, I see other pros do the same evil.😆 I'd be surprised if you or they never considered this. What's up with youse guys? I can't imagine the reason other than, it's what youse guys are used to.

I do have left hand reels and use them occasionally. Just feels so much more comfortable the other way. No other reason. Lol.

@@samuelstrickland3678 I think one time a bass hit my lure in air, just before the lure hit the water.
