We have an English Setter (considered a Field Setter) that is a rescue. He was 2 yo when we got him nearly 5 months ago. Rusty was kept in a cage outdoors for nearly 2 years, so more than likely never walked. He wasn't a good hunting dog as he didn't like loud noises, from what I heard. He is high energy. We have been through 4 training sessions with 4 different trainers. Their methods didn't work. I am hoping your method will work! :)

Is it bad that I started training come on the vibrate setting? We’ve had one session that was about 10 mins today. Should I switch him over to beep for come ?

The beep is a reward so when your dog does something good the beep tells them they did a good thing and they will get a treat The vibrate/shock is to correct for example if you ask your dog to sit and it sits beep and treat If you ask your dog to sit and it doesn’t sit use vibrate until dog listens once listens then beep and treat
