You can put an access point nearby with an ethernet cable to provide more stable wifi.

Also, my husband can log in on his phone and check at the same time I can. Are you using the same username and password? Limited pins would suck if you’ve got lots of people coming in and out. We set up a separate pin for my mom, but that just gets complicated when my son is with her.

Their outdoor wireless camera has an option to take the camera on and off the mount by way of a magnet. Mine just got stolen, and even with the most expensive plan, and of course they don't catch it. I don't have motion sensor out there because neighbors pass by my camera all the time And I cannot be glued to my phone 24/7. There was only 7 seconds of motion and that's it. It is stupid that they don't have facial recognition of some kind to sift between neighbors and strangers. Also, on my phone the SimpliSafe notification sounds are all the same, except doorbell. And it used my default notification sound. That is the same sound as all my other apps. So I didn't even see the notification till an hour and a half later. Live monitoring is only good if somebody breaks into your home, not your outdoor property.

For me, there are just TOO many CONS to buying this system. The app looks even WAY more limiting than an Apple Iphone is. BETTER options out there just do about 20min of research online!

Its a great service to me. I've had it about 3 years so far, and it has been very reliable.

@@jasondrayton6229 As long as YOU are happy with it that's all that really matters! Everyone has different wants/needs and fortunately MANY options exist out there for home security. In my case I chose Ring as it integrates with Alexa devices and works GREAT with the new Echo Hub that was released not to long ago. I'm am very pleased with the Echo Hub as it works with ALL my smarthome devices which I have ALOT of and LOVE the voice control and routine options. I can also control my Ring alarm and quickly see the status of all my Ring devices on the Echo Hub which gives me an on-screen display that I have wall mounted. There are other use cases where Amazon Echo devices are NOT a good fit or the Ring alarm for that matter. For me SimpliSafe is just too basic and does not offer the functionality I want but it DOES work well as a security system. IMO there is no WRONG choice as long as the end user is satisfied.

That’s weird. I didn’t have to pay for the backup Verizon at all. It just came with a card in case internet goes out. Didn’t have a plan for like a year and now I chose to have one. Didn’t change anything with the backup verizon card. But a backup Ethernet cable would be good too. It’s probably got something to do with how easy it is to unplug if you were robbing the place.

I intensely dislike SimpliSafe and wish I had never bought it. It's more a business model than a gives a hoot security company. The inventor sold it years ago.
