Nice review and thanks for sneak peek video you posted a few months ago announcing the new equipment which made up switch from Arlo Home security to the Cove system.We were always interested in Cove security but the poor cameras turned us away. Hopefully Eufy will change all that soon and well add some Eufy cameras as well. We are very pleased so far, set up was a breeze and the emergency response time is incredibly fast. We built up our entire house , 12 widow door sensors, 2 touchscreens, 3 motion sensors, smoke detector, water sensor, remote and a free Eufy indoor camera for $330 which is the most sensors we ever had in an alarm system.

I love this channel. You all give honest in depth reviews that are clear and concise. Very helpful for all us newbies

Been with cove for a year. It sucks. But also didn’t know about any of these updates cause they don’t really say much or notify you when things are bad. My outdoor camera just doesn’t detect motion anymore and the app frequently kicks off people I grant permission. Customer service is fine - but they advertise a lifetime warranty for their top tier subscribers and I had to threaten to cancel to get an offer to replace my camera. Not sure if I’ll take them up on that - but still has been a less than stellar experience. 5/10

Was thinking about purchasing the outdoor camera with the solar panel on top. Have you been having problems with your camera? Is it something that I should not purchase? Thanks. Been with the company since 2001 so far I have not had any problems.

There's a way to get by all motions and cameras so your system is just minimal prevention against common impulsive passer bys or revenge seekers acting on impulse, there are real motions & cameras that are lmost entirely impossible to compromise yet their cost could be 1000s usually for high risk areas

I bought this system of Instagram on sale and somehow managed to purchase it without ever being told there was no self-monitoring. Guessing it defaulted to the basic plan. Ended up returning it when I found out I was getting a monthly charge. Not to mention my zip code does not allow for emergency monitoring by first responders (I live on Maui). Anyways, the items looked good upon unboxing, but never tested the system before returning

Upgraded to their newer system since my last system kept having cellular connectivity issues. It took me a couple hours to get everything setup the way I like it (I'm very picky when it comes to cable management :D) but I like the new system. I like that I can control it through Google Home, and it seems to maintain a better connection to the mothership.

I love my new system and it works great.

I recently found your channel and love all info. I currently am looking for a wireless outdoor camera without a subscription and that can detect motion up to 50ft, and recommendations? Thanks

Thanks for watching our stuff! Check out our Eufy 3 video. The kit of the cameras is spendy but well worth it for two. Eufy, Lorex, and Reolink tend to be my favorites for non-subscription, local storage cameras

All cove transmitters are designed with very little tolerance for keeping internal circuit open or closed as it is like the old design of 60s 70s were a magnet pulls on metal internally not acting as a reed switch eventually the magnet causes the metal to stay in closed circuit either always causing an alarm or never an alarm

If alarm goes off when nobody home how long a siren will turn off?

It was really hard for me to upgrade from the old hub to this new hub. Super hard. Took me a full day to set it up.

With motion sensors are door/window sensors even needed? We have an open floorplan downstairs, so two sensors would be enough and maybe one on the large garage door. Not that I don't want to buy them, just makes it easy if only three motion sensors.

Excellent review. A quick comment about the door sensors though. It could be that the magnet is decently strong, but the reed switch itself may be very stiff. This could be a good thing though, as it would prevent a burglar from using a very strong magnet to bypass the alarm by keeping the reed switch closed. This is just speculation on my part! :)

That door with the whacky looking sensor doesn't even look like it actually closes?? That gap was HUGE! Maybe the home shifted? If so, that's insane! At best, @asksafewire should get it re-plumbed, as that is definitely not energy efficient.

Yes! As I understand it, you should be able to stream your camera footage through the alarm panel (once that Eufy partnership solidifies). Cove told us they're hoping this will be finalized by the end of the year, but your Alexa Show should be able to do that now.

Cove is good so far. I really like the 5 dollar device credit. It was easy to install however the sticky backing on the motion did fail causing a call from cove. That was nothing a little duco cement could not fix.

@@shanda2600its essentially you getting 5$ every month that can go into buying equipment.

The old system looked better. The screen looked nicer and it didn't have the bulky hub. It was alot easier to install too, now you have to worry about running Ethernet cable and power supply to hub.

I guess I have the old system also since 2021 and don’t have to run an Ethernet cable. No problems so far with my system

Yes! Like most DIY systems, Cove's sensors are all peel and stick. Some of them do come with screws and anchors if you want something more permanent

lifetime equipment warranty does not apply for security camera's purchased from them. Only the sensors.

I’m mad I just wanted to hear the beep or voice when a door is opened the siren sound this seems paid an not a real hands on review

Sorry to know I have to replace the batteries myself in the sensors

They forgot to mention extra annual cost upon excessive signals when no contract exists there is no agreement for fixed unlimited signals cost annually means you may be charged 1 month of the year $300 All because of run away alarm signal!

What does the siren sound like in a full blown Police alarm

Cove is expecting to make profit on volume like so many these days with quality, reliability diminished in short term, eventually creating excessive maintenance, soon another corporation will turn out an Ai system for under s120 per year! She forgot to tell u about the unpatend wireless frequency design that eventually will be compromised without any notice besides the eves drop incorporated with technical equipment design for authorized law enforcement to monitor upon order

Can we do better perhaps

I hate all the new systems that is not on a land line regardless if light goes out or wifi goes out should still work.but they integrate into wifi
